Outdoor Activities Scotland

AquaplayScotland are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and insured through Jardine Lloyd Thompson. Our instructors and leaders are highly experienced and qualified in the activities we provide.  We have a passion for the outdoors and the exciting and emotional experiences this environment offers.

We have been designing and delivering outdoor team building events and activities for a number of years, providing our customers with a bespoke service always aiming to deliver excellence and true value for money.

Our activities take place amid inspirational scenery in the Scottish Highlands. We are based in the heart of Speyside which boasts the famous malt whisky trail.

Typically lasting one to three days, for up to 20 participants, we design tasks and activities that are exciting and challenging, where good communication and teamwork is shown to benefit everyone. Our equipment and local climate generally allows us to operate throughout the year.

Gorge Walking and team challenges in Scotland

"We had such a good time. I don't think we have laughed so much in a long time. There was a lot of anxiety arising in the days before our 'adventure' and I wondered if I had done the right thing but Jonathan was a very calm and encouraging support. My older sister has a fear of heights and deep water but with Jonathan's support she jumped (on her own) into the deep pool twice! I couldn't believe it!
Lots of laughter and great memories. A very successful day out.
Many thanks for organising it."

Linda Smith and family 12 June 2010

"I learnt a huge amount which will be great not just for sea situations but all sorts of other life situations. So thanks a bundle once again for your great teaching"

Alison Hester

We provide all the safety equipment and clothing, 5mm steamer wet suits for your warmth and comfort, and lots of challenges to excite and entertain you throughout your time with us.

Outdoor Scotland Activities Kayaking

We offer a variety of kayaking activities for youngsters from the age of 8 upwards. Our courses start from introductory flat water paddling working through to advanced paddling on more extreme water on some of Scotland’s wilder rivers and further afield in Europe. We can provide kayaks and kit and our excellent quality outdoor clothing allows us to operate throughout the year.

We offer BCU coaching and personal paddling training and assessments along with the full range of safety courses.

Outdoor Scotland Activities Boogie Boarding

Our boogie boarding takes place wherever there is surf on the Moray Firth. We use the famous surfing beaches of Sandend, Cullen and Lossiemouth.

Whilst it is up to the individual to suss out the waves and gain the skills to catch them and surf in towards the beach at high speed, we also use this activity to work as teams to ensure that participants stay together working in an area and looking after each other.

Outdoor Scotland Activities Gorge Walking/Canyoning

We offer a variety of gorge walks and canyoning in the Highlands. All have their unique characters and numerous challenges for groups of all abilities.

The challenge is to operate as a team, looking out for each other, choosing the good lines on the numerous rapids and water falls you will encounter and have a bit of craik and enjoy the wonderful scenery and wildlife in these wonderful gorges.

We provide all the safety equipment and clothing, 5mm steamer wet suits for your warmth and comfort, and lots of challenges to excite and entertain you throughout your time with us.

Outdoor Scotland Activities Inflateable Kayaking

We offer a great variety of inflatable kayaking activities for all ages from the age of 8 upwards. Our kayaks are of two designs, the first, for paddling all grades of water up to grade 5 and the second, a design for paddling more gentle water but even these have been used up to grade 4 in expert hands. The second design sits higher in the water and the participants are therefore kept drier than when using the lower set design. Both styles are great fun to paddle and provide people with the opportunity to paddle grades of water which would not be possible in a traditional enclosed kayak with spray deck.

Look on your craft as a one or two person raft!

The challenge is to operate as a team, looking out for each other, chose the safe lines on the numerous rapids, play on the waves you will encounter and have a bit of craik and enjoy the wonderful scenery and wildlife on the quieter slow moving sections.

Outdoors Scotland Activities Coasteering

Our Coasteering takes place on the rugged coastline at the Bow Fiddle Rock at Portknockie or alternatively on the rocky outcrops at Findochty both on the Moray Firth.

A mixture of swimming, rock scrambling and jumping into deep pools we use the ebb and flow of the tide to swim out to rocky islands and outcrops making a traverse under the cliffs. We take leaps of faith into the churning waters, scramble through a huge crack in the rocks and working as a team assess our moves before plunging back into the water. We finish the day at either the local cafe or ice cream shop in nearby Cullen.
