Scrubber Freeze Aquapurge's latest Advancement

Scrubber Freeze is a PVC-based, Ca/Zn stabilised material that acts as a carrier for Aquapurge's proprietary holding/scrubbing compound.

Scrubber Freeze has a broad application on PVC: it can be used for injection moulding, for large sheet dies - both standard and foamed PVC sheet - as well as for pipe and profile extrusion. It can shift plate-out from dies, remove carbon build-up from screws and speed up colour changes.

Scrubber Freeze - Pipe/Profile Extrusion

Scrubber Freeze will shift stubborn carbon/plate out from extrusion machinery - and will scrape carbon or plate out from screws, barrels and dies at normal or reduced processing temperature.

It can be used for a wide variety of PVC extrusion processes: pipe, sheet (standard and foam in both cases), compounding and profile.

Scrubber Freeze - PVC Injection

Scrubber Freeze will shift stubborn carbon deposits from injection moulding machinery.

Carbon Deposits can cause problems in a number of ways:

  • They can make internal machine surfaces rough, acting as a ‘key’ to which traces of the last batch of material can stick
  • They can show up as specks or streaks in finished products; or, traces of an ‘old’ batch can be moulded into a product, affecting physical properties
  • They can act as a catalyst for further degradation - such as hydrochlorination of PVC
  • Continuous build-up can reduce screw throat depth. This alters the melting characteristics of the screw and barrel, leading to fluctuating processing conditions and splash marks.

Preventing carbon build-up is better than cure. But if a cure is needed, Scrubber Freeze is the ideal solution.

Injection - Barrel Blitz Universal

Barrel Blitz Universal (BBU) is a true evolution in purging made up of a stable, easily clearing polymer and Aquapurge’s proprietary Scrubber Concentrate. It’s three primary uses are; colour changes, material changes and where it truly comes into its own; clearing carbon.

This carbon removal - by this we mean fully degraded materials and plate-out from concentrated pigments or additives - can either be done in isolation but more importantly every time you use the BBU for colour of material changes.

Injection - Carbon Clear

Carbon Clear has been developed out of an in-depth understanding of:

  • Moulding engineering materials
  • The causes of problems when changing between these materials
  • What occurs when finishing production runs

Aquapurge recognised at an early stage that the successful solution would not only comprise a new product specifically for this range of materials but also a new procedure for harnessing the unique qualities of Carbon Clear.

Through close contact with key customers and research of competitors procedure sheets, it was obvious a shake-up was required. In response to this, Aquapurge have formulated New Instruction Sheets with graphical interface resulting in a much higher acceptance by shop floor staff.

Injection - Poly Clear

Poly Clear has been developed out of an in-depth understanding of:

  • Moulding polyolefin and styrenic materials
  • The causes of problems when changing between these materials
  • What occurs when finishing production runs

BARREL BLITZ TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Dismantling equipment is not just about pulling your machinery apart; it’s about ensuring your components are spotlessly clean before measuring and re-assembly.

Barrel Blitz helps with screw, barrel and nozzle dismantling and cleaning by:

  • Using Aquapurge’s cleaning technology to ensure all the previous material is clear
    ...from the equipment
  • Using scouring media to scrape the surfaces of the screw and the difficult to access
    ...and clean barrel walls
  • Using low frictional formulation we ensure low holding force allowing for easy
    ...extraction of parts
  • Using low adhesion formulation to allow the purge to be peeled off the screw hot

What's more, if your equipment has previously been decarbonised regularly it should only require polishing with a rag to ensure that it is ready for either measuring or re-assembly.

Blow Moulding - DB Purge

The majority of Continuous Extrusion Blow Moulding machines work on a high volume, small margin basis. This added to the increasing "Just In Time" delivery requirements of customers have resulted in a challenging environment for all blow moulders.

With the inherent hold up points in all head designs, lengthy colour changes and black specking (loosened, degraded polymer or masterbatch) are everyday occurrences in the life of a blow moulding machine.

With the introduction of aquapurge products this everyday trait has all but disappeared.
