Autocar has been a major contributor to the British motor industry since it was founded in 1923.

Under the Managing Directorship of its founder's grandson, Autocar now concentrates on automotive electronics with its world renown Lumenition range of high end engine management systems, ignition systems and diagnostic systems for application as diverse as classic cars, racing car, military vehicles and speed boats.

The Company also produces a range of shift lights, rev limiters and engine control systems for road and track racing under the Micro Dynamics brand.

Newly acquired in 2006 is the Newtronic range of ignition systems that enables a low cost alternative to the Lumenition range and enables Autocar to re-establish itself in the growing Classic motorcycle market.
