Babcock Wanson (UK) Ltd

Whether you need steam, hot water or superheated water production for your process heating application, at Babcock Wanson, we offer you the best boiler house solution with high performance, low emissions and real energy optimisation. We provide:

  1. VAP-EL Electric Boiler Series

    VAP-EL Electric Boiler Series
    From 16 to 360 kW – 400V three-phase – 50Hz
The VAP-EL model Electric Steam Boiler uses electrical energy to boil water and produce steam for process heating. The configuration of an electric boiler ensures high efficiency and an affordable heating process. This type of steam boiler can be a very good solution to meet your process heating requirements, especially in places where electricity is a readily available and low-cost resource. It is also convenient because its overall size means it does not need a lot of space for installation.
Babcock Wanson provides a wide selection of electric boiler solutions that can be adapted to our customers’ needs. The electric boiler has been designed to operate in diverse process industries, such as food processing, drying, chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries, in fact any industry that needs steam and has an economic source of electrical power or cannot install a fossil fuel fired traditional boiler.
Standard 4.5, 7 or 8.5 barg maximum working pressure with higher pressures available on demand.
  2. VAP HP High Pressure Steam Generator

VAP HP High Pressure Steam Generator
From 232 to 2,325 kW – Up to 100 barg working pressure
VAP-HP is a natural circulation high pressure steam generator designed for operation in a closed loop steam and condensate system. This type of closed loop configuration provides very high overall efficiency and the minimum of system losses throughout the operating range. The lack of blowdown, no requirement for softened make-up water and no need for ongoing chemical dosing make this the most cost effective and environmentally friendly design of steam generating equipment.
In its simplest application, the VAP-HP unit is operated in conjunction with a single user; steam produced by the boiler condenses at the user heat exchange surface producing condensate which returns under gravity to the boiler for reheating. VAP-HP requires minimal utilities consumption or use of space.
VAP-HP steam generator has been designed to operate in a diverse range of industries and to be able to serve all batch, continuous, or semi-continuous processes.
  3. VAP-LN Series Coil Steam Boilers

    VAP-LN Series Coil Steam Boilers
    From 250 to 3,500 kg/h (174 to 2,442 kW)
The VAP-LN range from Babcock Wanson are high efficiency rapid Steam Generators designed to comply with the most restrictive international rules concerning NOx and CO emissions. Based on our proven coil design, VAP-LN provides a robust, energy saving and environmentally friendly Steam Generator that can produce steam from a cold start in as little as 3 minutes.
VAP-LN units have a low water content which means exceptional safety even when operating at high pressures. Available in vertical or horizontal configuration, the VAP-LN range can produce steam outputs from 250 to 3,500 kg/h with standard operating pressures from 10 to 29 bar. Higher pressures are available on demand, with examples working at up to 100 bar.
  4. VAP Premium Steam Boiler

    VAP Premium Steam Boiler
VAP Coil Type Steam Boilers feature three full gas passes, plus an in-built combustion air pre-heater to give high operating efficiency. With availability of steam from cold start in as little as three minutes and a low volume of water under pressure VAP boilers combine efficiency with safety, even at very high working pressure.
  5. Waste Heat Recovery Boilers

    Waste Heat Recovery Boilers
Babcock Wanson is a leading manufacturer of all types of fired Steam Boilers, offering a wide range of Fire Tube Steam Boilers and Coil Type Steam Boilers (also referred to as Rapid Steam Generators).
  6. Waste Heat Recovery Boilers

    Waste Heat Recovery Boilers
These boilers are used to produce steam, high temperature water or hot thermal fluid using combustion gas coming from diesel engines, gas turbines (co-generation), industrial furnaces, incinerators or other thermal equipment.

  7. Water Softening

    Water Softening
Fire Tube Steam Boilers are the most traditional technique for the production of saturated steam, high pressure hot water or superheated steam for a range of outputs from 250 to 50 000 kg/h (175 to 34 000 kW).
  8. Water Softening

    Water Softening
In the minimum basic treatment, which converts by circulation through resins, the calcium and the magnesium carbonates produce scaling of the wetted surfaces. These salts are exchanged for the soluble sodium carbonates by contact with the resin.

  9. Water Treatment Products

    Water Treatment Products
As one of the oldest forms of steam boiler, originally dating back to the eighteenth century, Water Tube Boilers have progressed from powering small stationary steam engines and steam trains to being the powerhouse of large demanding processes with the capacity to provide very substantial outputs. They provide high quality steam, from dry saturated to high temperature superheated and, due to the heat exchanger design, have the ability to also provide very high operating pressures. They are suitable for applications requiring high steam output (up to 500 kg/s), high pressure steam (up to 160 bar) or superheated steam (up to 550°C).
  10. Water Treatment Products

    Water Treatment Products
We offer conditioning products developed to protect the boilers and the water/steam circuits against the risks of corrosion and scaling. The dispersants, oxygen scavengers, PH control and foaming inhibitors are calculated and proportioned according to the characteristics of each installation.
