Bradleys Ltd was incorporated in 1936 and is a privately owned family business.
In 1970 Bradleys entered the metal finishing market and became heavily involved in wet paint spraying.
With the installation of its first dry powder coating plant in 1973 and a purpose-built factory in 2000, Bradleys have expanded through natural
progression to the present day position of respect within the metal finishing industry.

E T H O S
The original Bradleys motto, ‘A good start to a good finish’, continues to be a paramount feature of our tried and tested coatings.

Removing structure contamination prior to applying the relevant pre-treatment or coating system is an essential element in the sequence. Bradleys
implement this through a range of environmentally friendly methods.

This multi stage process chemically etches and converts Aluminium surfaces to leave a layer of chromate. This helps to bond the surface coating
and provides a barrier against moisture attack. It also greatly reduces the spread of corrosion if the surface coating becomes damaged. This is an essential process for external aluminium.

Blasting is the most effective way of providing a key for superior surface coating adhesion. This is also an excellent way of removing rust and millscale to
provide a good clean, profiled surface. As well as chilled iron grit and mineral sand media, other blasting finishes can be achieved by using a range
of glass beads to provide aesthetic finishes on stainless steel and Aluminium.

Thermal spraying is undertaken using modern technology to give a very successful corrosion protection system which has the capability of out
living the life of a galvanized system. Atomised molten zinc wire is sprayed onto the blasted substrate, compared to the galvanizing process whereby
components are dipped into molten zinc. Hot zinc spray has superior bond strength for paint systems and is aesthetically more attractive than galvanizing
as it involves no dross or fettling. Bradleys metal spraying standards comply with ISO 2063

Powder coating is an extremely efficient and popular surface coating due to its excellent characteristics.
These thermosetting coatings are electrostatically applied in powder form to the workpiece and stoved to cure.
Polyester powders have good resistance to discolouration and an outstanding durability in external environments.
Epoxy powders have high chemical resistance and good adhesion properties.
Epoxy polyester powders provide a combination of good features and are largely used in the electronics and domestic industries for internal use. Bradleys
offer powder coated finishes in a wide range of standard colours and gloss levels. With our expertise we can offer specially matched colours and special
effect finishes.

Nylon coating is processed in a similar way to powder coating but it is thermoplastic and offers high abrasion resistance and excellent wear properties.
Nylon coating is also food quality approved.
