Castle Pumps Ltd
"Whatever the process, we have the pump"
Offering a vast selection of pumping equipment from over a hundred international pump manufacturers from around the world, castle pumps can offer equipment to suit almost any application, often with a short lead time.
An example of just some of the applications we cater for are chemicals, oils, foodstuffs, grease, pastes, sewage and many more.
At Castle Pumps we pride ourselves not only offering high quality pumping equipment, but we also offer thirty years of experience and knowledge.
This wealth of experience sets us apart from our competitors meaning that our engineers will have probably solved your query before helping another client and will therefore ensure your queries are solved accurately and efficiently. If you require a pump, tell us the intended use and we can specify the exact pump you need. Ensuring that valuable time and money are not wasted.
We supply pumps from a number of manufacturers including:
Air operated pumps are designed for transferring fluid from a drum, IBC or tanks, these pumps often come with different sizes of down tubes and with a follower plate if required. The air operated pump is most commonly used for the handling of oil, grease and lubricants in workshops, garages and plants.
Barrel pumps are used to empty containers for chemicals, oils, greases and other process liquids. They do this efficiently and safely with minimum effort. Alongside pumping, these drum pumps can be used to circulate fluid. The barrel pumps are able to empty 99.98% of fluid. They can be purchased either with a follower plate for high viscosity fluids or as a standard barrel pump.
When pumping fluid with a high flow rate, low pressure installation single stage centrifugal pumps are the most popular choice. However if a lower flow rate or a higher pressure is required, a multistage centrifugal pump is a better suited alternative.
Part of the positive displacement pump group, the flexible impeller pump is renowned for its renowned for its excellent dry self priming ability. Also known as a flexible vane pump, it is commonly used when the installation requires a good suction lift quality. These flexible impeller pumps are suitable for viscous fluids, slurries and liquids containing solid gas in lower pressure applications.
Gear Pumps can be produced in a number of types including internal eccentric gear pumps, external helical & modular gear pumps. These gear pumps are a type of positive displacement pump, moving fluid by rotating gears with intermeshing teeth.
Lobe pumps are a popular choice in many industries due to their gentle pumping mechanism. Enabling the product being transferred to remain undamaged throughout the pumping process. They also benefit from high efficiency, reliability, corrosion resistance, high sanitary characteristics and have good clean-in-place and steam-in-place qualities.
With two or more impellers multistage centrifugal pumps are designed for clean fluid transfer. Different versions are available to cater for different needs. With the impellers installed either in series or on the shaft for higher pressure applications. They can also be placed in parallel on opposite shafts for installations where higher flow rates are required.
Peristaltic pumps are renowned for their ability to handle high solid slurries, viscous products and aggressive fluids. They are suitable for high flow or pressure applications. This style of pump can be used with a variety of fluids by selecting a compatible tube.
Designed for high pressure pumping applications, these piston & plunger pumps are reciprocating pumps from the positive displacement family. These pumps an transfer fluids of up to 500 cp viscosity.
These pumps can be known as several things including a helical rotor pump, a mono pump or an eccentric screw pump. The progressive4 cavity pump is an ideal solution for tough applications and may succeed where other pumps may fail.
Side Channel Pumps are a popular choice where low flow/ high head applications for clean fluids are handled. Also known as liquid ring pumps they are capable of dealing with both liquids and gases. Due to its self priming properties a side channel pump functions like a displacement pump. However, once the side channels are filled, it begins to operate like a centrifugal pump.
Split Casing Pumps
Split Casing Pumps have a double suction impeller supported between bearings and are from the single stage centrifugal family. They can be purchased in either a vertical or horizontal option, depending upon the orientation of the impeller.
Ideal for transferring medium viscosity oils, lubricants and fuels at high levels, vane pumps are from the positive displacement pump family.Vane pumps are also a solution for low viscosity fuels such as alcohol, chemical, fuels and solvents. Most vane pump designs are direct drive meaning that their efficiency is not compromised by gears or transmissions.
Vertical Immersion Pumps
Vertical immersion pumps are centrifugal pumps which are vertically immersed and are perfect for the handling of water and other thin fuels. When needing to pump from an underground well, a reservoir or river, or in applications where the liquid is a high temperature that would not enable a traditional submersible pump to be used, a vertical immersion pump would be an ideal solution.
