All of the Enduramaxx potable vertical tanks are also available as non potable versions available on request.

Enduramaxx WRAS approved potable water tanks are manufactured for uses throughout the agricultural, commercial, domestic, horticultural, industrial and irrigation markets.  A rugged Vertical Rainwater Tank. The range of 15 sizes from 500 Litres to 25000 Litres is backed by a solid warranty.

  1. Sodium Hydroxide/Caustic Soda Storage Tanks

    What is Sodium Hydroxide?

Sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda and lye is a highly caustic compound and alkali that decomposes proteins at ordinary ambient temperatures and may cause severe chemical burns. It is highly soluble in water and readily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air. Worldwide production in 2004 was approximately 60 million tonnes, while demand was 51 million tonnes.

Here are some main industries that Sodium hydroxide is used in:

Chemical Pumping. Sodium hydroxide is also widely used in pulping of wood for making paper or regenerated fibres. Along with sodium sulphide, sodium hydroxide is a key component of the white liquor solution used to separate lignin from cellulose fibres in the sulphate process. It also plays a key role in several later stages of the process of bleaching the brown pulp resulting from the pulping process.

Water Treatment. Sodium hydroxide is sometimes used during water purification to raise the pH of water supplies. Increased pH makes the water less corrosive to plumbing and reduces the amount of lead, copper and other toxic metals that can dissolve into drinking water.

Cements, Mortars, Concretes and Grouts. Sodium hydroxide is used in some cement mix plasticisers. This helps homogenise cement mixes, preventing segregation of sands and cement, decreases the amount of water required in a mix and increases workability of the cement product, be it mortar, render or concrete.

Cleaning Agents. Sodium hydroxide is frequently used as an industrial cleaning agent where it is often called “caustic”. It is added to water, heated, and then used to clean process equipment, storage tanks, etc. It can dissolve grease, oils, fats and protein-based deposits. It is also used for cleaning waste discharge pipes under sinks and drains in domestic properties.

Food preparation. Food uses of sodium hydroxide include washing or chemical peeling of fruits and vegetables, chocolate and cocoa processing, caramel colouring production, poultry scalding, soft drink processing.

    Sodium Hydroxide Storage Tanks

Enduratank manufacture a complete range of bunded storage tanks for the processing and storage of bulk Sodium Hydroxide. Our bunded tanks have been specifically designed with pollution control in mind. Selected for integral protection from leakage and overfilling. These plastic tanks are constructed using rotationally moulded mid density polyethylene.

These bunded tanks contain a minimum 110% volume of the inner tank. Simply put, a bunded tank is a ‘tank within a tank’ which helps customers conform to current health and safety legislation.

    Closed Top Bunded Tanks

Enduratank closed top bunded tanks are available in a wide range of sizes from 400 litre to 30,000 litre. Further storage capacities can be acquired by simply linking the tanks together with our tank connector kits. The customisation to a client’s specific requirements is available upon request.

    Open Top Bunded Tanks

Like our closed top bunded tanks, our open top bunded tanks are also available in a wide range of sizes from 400 litre to 30,000 litre. Further storage capacities can be acquired by simply linking the tanks together with our tank connector kits. The customisation to a client’s specific requirements is available upon request.

  2. Admixture Storage Tanks

What are Fluid Chemical Admixtures (Admix)?

Chemical admixtures are materials that are added to the concrete to give it certain characteristics not obtainable with normal concrete mixes. In normal use, admixture dosages are less than 5% by mass of cement and are added to the concrete at the time of batching/mixing. There 8 main uses or types of admixture for the concrete industry:

    1. Accelerators speed up the hydration (hardening) of the concrete. However, use of chlorides may cause corrosion in steel reinforcing and is prohibited in some countries, so that nitrates may be favoured. Accelerating admixtures are especially useful for modifying the properties of concrete in cold weather.
    2. Retarders slow the hydration of concrete and are used in large or difficult pours where partial setting before the pour is complete is undesirable.
    3. Air entraining agents add and entrain tiny air bubbles in the concrete, which reduces damage during freeze-thaw cycles, increasing durability. However, entrained air entails a trade-off with strength, as each 1% of air may decrease compressive strength 5%. If too much air becomes trapped in the concrete as a result of the mixing process, defoamers can be used to encourage the air bubble to agglomerate, rise to the surface of the wet concrete and then disperse.
    4. Plasticisers increase the workability of plastic or “fresh” concrete, allowing it be placed more easily, with less consolidating effort. A typical plasticiser is lignosulfonate. Plasticisers can be used to reduce the water content of concrete while maintaining workability and are sometimes called ‘water-reducers’ due to this use. Such treatment improves its strength and durability characteristics.
    5. Pigments can be used to change the colour of concrete, for aesthetics.
    6. Corrosion inhibitors are used to minimize the corrosion of steel and steel bars in concrete.
    7. Bonding agents are used to create a bond between old and new concrete (typically a type of polymer) with wide temperature tolerance and corrosion resistance.
    8. Pumping aids improve pumpability, thicken the paste and reduce separation and bleeding.
