Sustainability

ESL Ceramics' Environmental Policy

The company understands that being committed to the environment is an important and ongoing mission. It is continually working towards implementing systems and processes that will make it a better company in regard to the environment. Examples of this are using lower emission company vehicles, environmentally conscious logistics partners and a “recycle all” philosophy within the offices, showrooms and warehouses.

When you specify a ceramic or porcelain tile from ESL Ceramics, you can be safe in the knowledge that these materials are sourced only from well established premium manufacturers and are amongst the most eco-friendly surface materials available.

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic and porcelain tiles are extremely durable, are easily maintained without the need for harsh chemicals or solvents and have an expected life span of over 50 years when installed and maintained properly.

They are made using plentiful, natural materials (clay, feldspar, quartz). The factories with which ESL Ceramics has partnered source raw materials locally so reducing fuel consumption and transportation costs. They constantly review and improve upon their technological expertise and commitment to environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices. Most of the suppliers recycle waste raw materials, production energy and process water back into the production cycle and use recycled packaging wherever possible. Recycled content is now an extremely important aspect of new tile production which and is generally around 20-40% of the tile body and this process helps reduce landfill waste.

The suppliers' factories are governed by the most stringent environmental legislation anywhere in the world and use manufacturing technologies with lower environmental impact and also develop products that deliver excellent ecological qualities. Strict legislative requirements control raw material extraction, anti-pollution production devices, water usage, post-industrial recycling, air quality, and the use of recycled materials for product packaging.
