FLEXIBLE CONDUIT CABLE PROTECTION

Flexible conduit is used for the protection and containment of vulnerable electrical cables, wiring and fibre optics. It is an extremely effective form of cable management, available in a variety of systems, which can cope with a diverse range of environmental factors and operating conditions.

Our flexible conduit products have been developed and tested to the most demanding quality standards and have been awarded quality approvals and compliance worldwide. Flexicon has demonstrated its technical capabilities by securing infrastructure and rolling stock projects internationally.

Cable and wiring products used within the rail segment are extremely technically demanding, requiring a comprehensive offer to meet a variety of applications and performance characteristics. Considerations regarding IP ratings, pull off characteristics, weight and corrosion resistance are all factors to consider.

Typical applications for our flexible conduit cable protection products include:

  • Infrastructure - tunnels, stations
  • Signalling
  • Telecommunications
  • Passenger information systems
  • Points machines
  • Lighting
  • OEM solutions on rolling stock including rail carriage construction (interior/exterior/inter-carriage connection) metro and trolleybuses
  • EMC on safety systems

Our flexible conduit systems include:

  • F Steel systems
  • Low fire hazard (LFH) systems
  • SS stainless-steel systems
  • LT liquid tight systems
  • FP nylon systems
  • BRD braided systems

LOW FIRE HAZARD CONDUIT SYSTEMS

LFH conduit systems are becoming an increasing part of the specification in many cabling applications. Public buildings, retail outlets, high-rise office blocks, hospitals and transport installations are just a few instances where LFH products may be demanded.

Low fire hazard systems are required to protect personnel and property in the event of a fire and may be demanded by specifiers, occupiers, fire services or even insurers.

Our galvanised steel LFHU coated flexible steel conduit is helically wound. It is ideal for railway tunnels and public and commercial buildings, and features:

  • High mechanical strength
  • High flexibility
  • IP54 rating with standard fittings
  • IP65 with type C compression fittings
  • Extra low fire hazard (LFH)
  • UL 94 V0
  • Halogen, sulphur and phosphorus free
  • Full compliance to LUL Std 2-01001-002:A1
  • Temperature range of -25°C to +90°C
  • Nickel plated brass fittings
