    Employing the newest technologies, SCHOTT has integrated high brightness LEDs and controller electronics into the head of the illuminators. This saves space on the workbench and allows easy and ergonomic operation, directly on the microscope. There is no need to remove eyes from the eyepieces to find a controller box somewhere on the bench. The SCHOTT cold light sources KL 200, KL 1500 LCD, KL 1500 compact, KL 1500 LED and KL 2500 LCD have an integrated filter holder, filter slide or filter wheel. ? Insert filters are placed inside of the light source and evenly illuminate the entire fiber bundle and can be used with all standard fiberoptics for the respective light source. ? Filter change is extremely easy with the filter drawer and filter wheel. ?     SCHOTT Shortpass filters - Light of short wavelengths can pass through these filters The SCHOTT KG series of optical filter glasses are virtually colourless with high transmission in the visible and effective absorption in the IR (heat protection filters) Schott KG series heat absorbing glass is used to reduce the transmitted heat through an optical system. The Schott KG filter glasses absorb wavelengths in the Infrared IR spectrum. Unlike hot mirrors, which reflect the infrared wavelengths Schott KG filter glasses can also be used as a shortpass filter, in order to pass the visible and block the IR. The Schott KG filter glasses absorb infrared radiation and dissipate the heat into the air around the glass.

    The SCHOTT KL1500 compact cold light source is a new 150-watt halogen cold light source, developed and designed for applications in machine vision, stereo microscopy and macroscopy. With its modern and aesthetic design the typical "Look and Feel" of the KL family is maintained. Concentration onto basis features compared to the high-end LCD light sources allows an excellent price-performance-ratio. The KL 1500 compact cold light source is driven by an autoswitching wide range power supply which covers a range from 85 to 264 volts at 47 to 63 Hz for world wide usage. The high frequency (approx. 20 kHz) light source is digital camera proof - no flicker effect at short exposure times in "Life Image" mode. The KL 1500 LCD is available in 120- and 230-volt versions. The KL 1500 LCD cold light source has been approved and certified as laboratory and electromedical device by VDE (230 volt version) and CSA (C/US) (120 volt version). The 230 volt version carries the CE conformity label.
