Gecko Heat Pumps Ltd
Air Source Heat Pumps use the freely available energy in the air to provide 100% of the heating and hot water requirements, even ay ambient temperatures as low as -15 degrees C. ASHP have the added advantage of low installation costs and minimal space requirements. Our relatively mild winter cliamte mean excellent efficiencies and permance levels are achieved year round. Air Source Heat Pump installations are supported by the governments Renewable Heating Incentive scheme. (RHI)
Ground Source Heat Pumps are ideal boiler replacement systems. GSHP draws as much as 75% of its required energy from the ground from freely available solar energy stored there. Ground Source Heat Pumps provide high levels of efficiency for both space and hot water heating year round. Ground Source Heat Pump installations are supported by the government's Renewable Heating Incentive Scheme (RHI)
Using Water as the primary energy source for your heat pump provides the best efficiency of any heat pump system. Energy stored in River, Lake and Pond water, or from a drilled borehole, is constantly replenished and available at a much more constant temperature than other energy sources. As a result efficiencies are maximized providing heating and hot water year round. Water source systems are supported by the government's Renewable Heating Incentive Scheme (RHI).
Low temeprature underfloor heating is the ideal heat distribution system to maximize heat pump efficiency. Systems can be laid in screed, between joists or an an overlay to existing floors. Systems must be designed to provide adeqaute heat at the lowest temperature from the heat pump to maximize efficiencies
Gecko Heat Pumps Ltd provides design and consultancy services, specification, supply and installation for Air Source Heat Pumps. Systems are specified to meet your exact requiremnts taking into account local air temperatures year round, and living styles.
Air source systems can be scaled up to provide heating and hot water and process support for small, medium and large commercial installations, reducing operating costs, improving efficiencies and reducing carbon footprints. Commerciaal installations are supported by the government through the Non-domestic Renewable Heating Incentive scheme (RHI)
Ground Source Heat Pumps can be banked together to service commercial installations both small and large, providing heating, hot water and process support. Efficiencies are imp[roved, running costs reduced and carbon footprints similarly reduced. The Non Domestic Renewable Heating Incentive is avauilable from the govrnment to support renewable installations in the commercial environment.
The Government offers the Renewable Heating Incentive scheme to support Air, Ground and Water Source installations. Eligibility covers gas, oil and electric heating system replacements, and is applicable to both domestic and commercial customers. Eligibility criteria include MCS certification of both installer and product and the design and installation must comply with MCS requirements. The scheme is more generous towards ground and water source systems, recognizing both their higher cost, but also their improved efficiencies. Tarrifs for air source systems also ensure that the installations are made considerably more cost effective.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme of which we are a member ensures that standards of design and installation comply with the strict regulations of the MCS scheme. This ensures that the installation will perform as sold, and that the qualityof the workmanship meets requirements.
