    GGB, an industry leader and innovator in tribology and surface engineering technologies, announces the launch of its new TriboShield®line of polymer coatings. These self-lubricating products will serve to increase equipment longevity and performance in many industries, including automotive, aerospace and other industrial applications.

    At the forefront of advancing polymer coating technologies, this new product line helps to improve performance through reduced friction, increased wear life, reduced system noise and improved corrosion resistance, all while reducing system costs. Coatings can also be applied to nearly any surface, regardless of shape and material.

  6. GGB EP™63 Passes FAA Compliance Requirements
    15 October 2018

    In accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, GGB EP™63 self-lubricating engineered plastic bearings recently passed a variety of flammability and toxicity tests for interior aircraft certification. The tests demonstrated that the EP™63 engineered plastic material complies with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 25.853 and 25.855, making it suitable for interior aircraft applications such as seats, hinges, latches and passenger bins for fire safety.

    To achieve the necessary compliance assessment, testing was administered and certified by three industry independent organizations: CREPIMCofrac and Nadcap (the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program). Technical experts from each organization performed conformity assessments designed by the FAA for cabin and cargo compartment materials, including resistance to flame when tested to a 60- and 12-second vertical Bunsen burner test.

    GGB’s EP™ polymer bearings provide excellent wear resistance and low friction in both dry and lubricated operating conditions over a wide range of applications. Consisting of nine different materials, the EP® series of engineered plastic materials is made of a variety of resins compounded with reinforcing fibers and solid lubricant. They exhibit excellent dimensional stability, low coefficients of friction, high compressive strength and creep resistance, low thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity.

    GGB announces the development of EP™30, the newest addition to their light-weight engineered plastics product range. EP™30 tribolological material is made-to-order in a wide range of standard and custom shapes, and provide good to very good dry and lubricated performance in applications as diverse as office and sports equipmentautomobiles, domestic appliances and chemical-processing equipment.

    More specifically, EP™30 extends the current engineered plastics product range in terms of improved temperature resistance and damping effect to reduce noise. It provides the ideal combination of performance and price for certain applications, such as water pumps both in automotive and industrial applications, pulley dampers, automotive interiors, seat sliders and hydrodynamic applications. EP™30 also offers the following characteristics:

    • Good bushing performance in dry working conditions
    • Very good bushing performance in lubricated or marginally lubricated applications
    • Corrosion resistance in humid and saline environments
