Glasson Metalworks is a family-run business that has been established for over 40 years in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. They are currently based at Stanborough Forge on Stanboroughbury Farm.

Glasson Metalworks offer a friendly, personalised service to their domestic and industrial clients, who include many local authorities, housing associations, project managers, building contractors, architects, property management and property development companies. 

Recent projects have included bespoke steelwork (often referred to as wrought iron) for domestic clients some of which have been decorative handrails or balustrades, gates, balcony platforms with staircases and handrails, canopy frames and balconies.  For their commercial clients they have installed a large number of supportive structural steelwork, both roof beams and beams set in floors to support heavy equipment.  They have also fabricated and installed a number of mesh enclosures to protect equipment for safety or security reasons. 

Glasson Metalworks have been working with a local housing association to replace wooden balconies with perforated steel infills to improve the appearance of the flats and to provide a safer, more secure protection for the tenants.

Alongside their bespoke metalwork service, they have been designing and fabricating pool table trolleys and piano trolleys since 1984.

Since their move to Stanborough Forge 4 years ago, they are now able to offer more of a service to local builders supplying steels for new builds and extensions. They are also able to offer on-site welding in Welwyn Garden City, Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London.
