Our AC and DC Linear — Open Frame Solenoids are perfect for a variety of applications. They are available in single action pull or thrust.

Further features of the AC and DC Linear — Open Frame Solenoids include:

• BAC means the solenoid is for AC supply and the BDC is for DC supply
• Common DC voltage 12V & 24V.
• Common AC voltage 110V, 115V & 230V.
• Other AC & DC voltages available on request.
• Leads fitted 200mm as standard - desired length can be cut on request
• Fixing arrangement, Plunger coupling and Thrust rods options can all be customised

Our DC latching solenoids are a combination of an electromagnetic solenoid and permanent magnets. An electrical pulse is applied to the solenoid coil causing it to close.  Once the pulse has finished the permanent magnets continue to hold the plunger in the closed position. To release the plunger, a low current pulse of opposite polarity is supplied to the solenoid coil.

Features of the DC latching solenoid include:

• Coil leads fitted as standard will be 200mm free length
• Leads can be cut to a desired length on request
• Fixing arrangement, Plunger coupling and Thrust rods options can all be customised

The electromagnets maximum holding force is achieved with a flat surface that has a dimension greater or equal to the holding face.  Holding can be achieved by Power ON or Power OFF 

Specifications for the electromagnet include:

• Catch Plate accessory is available for BEM.3, BEM.4, BEM.5 & BEM6 types
• Holding forces Power ON (energise to hold) from 12kg to 550kg
• Holding forces Power OFF (energise to release) from 12kg to 200kg
• Ideal for Access Control, Security and Automation projects.

Many of our solenoid units can all be adapted. We can modify lead length, fixing arrangement, plunger coupling and thrust rod options. Our customised solenoids are for when a specification is required outside of these solutions. Our customised solenoids can be:

Fire Door Holders are designed to hold fire doors open in any area where access is essential.  Generally linked to a fire system that will automatically release the doors in case of a fire by switching the power off.  If required they can also be manually operated by their release button.  Ideal for use in any public access area including Hospitals, Offices, Hotels and Care Homes.
