GD1000K Piston Seal

HUNGER slide ring seal type GD1000K is a 6 part piston seal for sealing and guiding double acting cylinders. The seal design and materials makes it particularly suitable for the most demanding heavy duty applications.

The GD1000K consists of a special shaped elastic energiser ring of a modified NBR, a slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze compound which acts as the sealing ring, two lateral supports rings of modified PUR and two bearings rings of pressure-resistant POM-PTFE-Bronze compound.

The energiser ring presses the sealing ring against the cylinder wall, providing a sealing function at zero working pressure. The onset of pressure increases the radial force pressing the slide ring against the cylinder wall, thereby increasing the sealing effect. The two support rings prevent gap extrusion of the slide ring at high pressures. The profile of the support rings encourages uniform fluid and pressure distribution to the elastic inner ring. The bearing rings positioned adjacent to the support rings make contact with the cylinder wall to guide the piston. The bearing ring design ensures there is no metallic contact between the piston and the cylinder tube.

The seal has very low friction and excellent efficiency giving stick slip free movement under all conditions.

Rotary Seals

HUNGER rotary seals are mainly used in rotary feed units for separation of oil or other fluids at different pressures, often subjected to pressure on both sides.

The small profile of the seals keeps external dimensions of the rotary feed units to a minimum.

TDA Tandem Piston Seal

HUNGER TDA tandem seal is used to seal pistons, plungers and piston accumulators. It can be used with mineral oils and in modified form with water based fluids and synthetic fire resistant fluids.

The TDA seal consists of 2 parts, an inner elastic ring in PUR with a sealing lip on the outer edge and an external slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze compound with a secondary sealing edge.

Pre-tension is generated during installation into the groove thereby providing an effective sealing at zero pressure. The onset of pressure increases the sealing effect but as the main contact area with the cylinder bore is the PTFE-Bronze slide ring with excellent low friction properties, stick slip free movement under all conditions is guaranteed.

TDI Tandem Rod Seal

HUNGER TDI tandem is a piston rod seal. It can be used with mineral oils and in modified form with water based fluids and synthetic fire resistant fluids.

The TDI seal consists of 2 parts, an outer elastic ring in PUR with a sealing lip on the inner edge and an internal slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze compound with a secondary sealing edge.

The onset of pressure increases the sealing effect but as the main contact area with the rod is the PTFE-Bronze slide ring with excellent low friction properties, stick slip free movement under all conditions is guaranteed.

V-Packing Seals

HUNGER V-packings are an extension to the DFE product range for sealing piston rods and pistons used for both outside and inside sealing.

V-packing elements in fibre reinforced NBR and pure NBR combined with pressure and support rings in POM or PA for good stability.

Any width catered for by varying number of V-packings and adjusting length of pressure and support rings.
