The name Hydor is synonymous with the very best in fan engineering and system design, and the company is justifiably proud of its particular reputation in agriculture and horticulture, as well as industrial applications.

Established in 1963, Hydor initially imported fans for poultry applications. As the business developed, so did Hydor’s capabilities, application knowledge and expertise in supplying a wide range of original equipment manufacturers in the UK market.

Hydor still operates from its original home town of Downton, Wiltshire in England, although it now boasts ultra modern premises and representation worldwide.  In 2003, following the acquisition by Elta Group, Hydor still continues to adopt the same cultural values - An enthusiasm, drive and determination that is expected of a privately owned family enterprise.

HV Fans

The Hydor HV Belt Drive fan unit is specifically designed to ventilate larger buildings on the farm, such as tunnel ventilated housing, where substantial amounts of air are moved at low pressure with minimal energy consumption.  The HV range is available in three sizes 800mm, 1000mm, 1250mm and 2000mm diameter, each with single or three phase motors and the option of louvres and guards. This powerful fan produces air volumes up to 11.94 m³/s.

Plate Mounted Axial Fans

The Hydor Plate Mounted fan HPA fans are designed around an advanced, high performance impeller with an excellence performance characteristics. Motors are matched to the aerodynamic performance of the impeller for maximum efficiency. The extensive range offers 9 sizes in both single and three phase and are suited to a wide variety of discharge and supply applications in the building services sector such as warehousing, restaurants, sports halls, industrial units, schools and kitchen extract to agricultural markets.

Short Cased Axial Fans

The Hydor Short Cased HCA axial fans are a compact, lightweight unit designed around an advanced, high performance impeller with excellent performance characteristics. Motors are matched to the aerodynamic performance of the impeller for maximum efficiency. The extensive range offers 7 sizes and are suited to a wide variety of discharge and supply applications in the building services sector such as warehousing, restaurants, sports halls, industrial units, schools and kitchen extract to agricultural markets.

Turbulators

The standard Turbulator HTS range of fans are specifically designed to have a long throw and move air efficiently to give a measure of control over temperature and humidity within agricultural buildings.  The Hydor range of Turbulators, are constructed with Alu-Zinc or stainless steel casings, with high efficiency, lightweight motors and non-corrosive plastic impellers, offering various sizes from 355mm to 630mm diameter.

Radiant Tube Series

The radiant heating series prevents freezing of pipes in the milking parlour during winter months.  The product works with natural gaz and propane and is CE approved.

Heater Exchanger

The Hydor HHXC Heat Recovery Units have been especially developed for use in broiler houses to reduce heat loss, whilst improving litter quality, bird performance and creating a drier environment.

Destratification Heater

The Hydor Destratification Heater has been developed from the combination of a destratification fan and a water heater battery. The HDSF630 is designed to save heating costs by re-distributing warmer air collecting at ceiling level and spreading this at lower level to balance the temperatures within the poultry house.

Hydor offer be-spoke control panels to meet Customer’s exact specific requirements and have supplied control panels to Universities, Hospitals, Marine Services, Atomic Energy De-Commissioning Agents, Utility Services, General Industry as well as the Horticultural and Agricultural Industries.

Misting Kit

Where there is a requirement for additional cooling in excessive heat conditions which create heat stress in livestock, Hydor misting kits ensure comfort is supplemented, thereby retaining normal feed intake pattes.

The added benefit of the fine spray generated by the misting kits ensures flies and other insects are kept away, with particular emphasis placed upon entrance and exit areas of the farm building.

 

High Flow Air Inlets

The Hydor High Flow Air Inlets control the direction, path and distribution of fresh air into a building. Inlets are perhaps one of the most important parts of your ventilation system. By opening or closing the inlet, you regulate the thickness of the air jet, the air velocity, and (therefore) the distance the air flows into the building.

Evaporative Cooling System

Originally developed for poultry and cattle, evaporative cooling is a simple but highly effective method of reducing temperature and increasing humidity. The surrounding air is cooled as micron-sized water droplets are emitted from a series of nozzles under high pressure. These are evaporated into the warm environment and air temperature is reduced without causing condensation or damage to any fixtures or fittings.
