Inductelec Ltd

We have a strong reputation as being one of the leading and the most technologically innovative induction heating companies in the UK. We deliver exceptional induction heating systems and applications and operate from our state of the art premises in Sheffield.

We have over 50 years experience, skill and expertise in induction heating and now offer an extensive range of unrivaled services including induction bending, melting and shrink fitting. We offer induction annealing, bonding, and soldering, brazing, induction hardening and provide services utilising forging technology.

We supply heat treatment solutions, RF induction heaters, MF induction heaters and induction heating coils.

Induction Annealing

Induction annealing solutions can be used for a range of applications including post weld annealing pipe joints, band annealing inserts, bread knife ends, clock springs, electrical connectors and seat belt springs.

We undertake our induction annealing in-house using a range of innovative power units combining the state of the art solid state switching techniques and revolutionary magnetic technologies.

Induction annealing is a heat treatment where material is exposed to elevated temperatures for a specific amount of time and then cooled. This reduces the hardness of metal and enhances its ductility and brings the metal to its softest point.

The benefits of our induction annealing solution include heat is generated into the material, energy costs are reduced. We produce accurate, repeatable heat cycles and can control the heat affected areas. We can easily control temperatures and reduce surface oxidation.

Our equipment is made bespoke to customer's individual needs and can create solutions matching your requirements exactly.

Induction Bending

We can provide a variety of bespoke induction bending systems with a range of traditional and non-traditional components. Our induction bending is cost effective and based on state of the art induction heating technology. We, along with our modern manufacturing facilities, approach induction heating from a unique standpoint and aim to provide outstanding designs, machining and PLC programming.

Induction bending systems can be used to bend materials in a range of industries. Our systems are used globally everyday in processes that include railways clips, forklift forks, leaf springs, tube bending, anti-roll bars, and clock spring ends.

Our systems use unique state solid state power units and pyrometer control systems that offer an entirely safe, cost efficient and an almost no fault level output. Our equipment supplies consistent, repeatable and traceable product quality levels. Our systems allow us to offer high production output and utilisation that decreases scrap levels and cost of production, maintenance and repair.

Induction Bonding

Induction bonding is a process of joining a metal or conductive material to a plastic or rubber material with or without a third bonding agent. It requires specific heat control that still reaches temperatures that cause bonds to form.

Our induction bonding systems are reliable and provide repeatable heat processes, they give no contact with components during heating and are extremely energy effective.

We provide control of the process through optical pyrometry that ensures reduced waste and repeatability. We also combine cell type production and in line environments so that our systems have rapid and accurate heat cycles.

Induction Forging

Our induction forging equipment provides both RF and MF units, handling systems suitable for both billet heating and bar end heating. It provides controlled heat, repeatability, reduced energy costs, and less oxidation.

Our induction forging technology is ideal use in vertical press forging, upset forging, hammer forging and automatic horizontal forging.

We process brass, aluminium, steel, copper, steel and stainless steel.

Induction Hardening

Our induction hardening techniques have been used for the engineering components industry, the automotive, and aerospace sectors. By using the latest solid state switching techniques and new magnetic technologies with our DZM matching systems, we can reduce input power needs for a given process over more traditional methods. This leads to massive saves on installation and running costs.

The induction hardening units can harden steels and include axle shafts, camshafts, ball joints, gears, flanges, steering racks, half racks, track rod ends, and transmission components.

We supply bespoke equipment for vertical shaft hardeners, horizontal shaft hardeners, flat face hardening, rotary tables, inline conveyors, pick and place units, and ring gear hardening.

Induction Melting

Materials processed in our induction melting systems have included gold, silver, platinum, brass and stainless steel. The system is used by scrap metal dealers for analysing the content of large loads and sample is melted and then spectrometer analysis gives a percentage of content.

Our induction melting furnace types include hydraulic and manual tilt, pop up, roll over deurville and manual load and unload. The benefits of our mini melt systems are no warm up, no special foundations, easy to operate and easy to maintain.

We can help and advise on the best available systems for your requirements and will do trials prior to the final process.

Induction Melting

Induction Shrink Fitting

We provide a comprehensive collection of standard and bespoke induction shrink fitting systems for a variety of traditional and more unusual components. Our induction shrink fitting systems are cost effective and based on new technologies that combine innovative design, manufacturing, machining and HMI and PLC programming.

The procedure follows heat, used to produce durable joints between two pieces of metal, where one is inserted into the other. Heat is controlled and applied to one of the pieces so it expands. Because they are inserted together one piece is at an ambient temperature and when both cooled, the hot metal contracts and produces pressure and interference. Finally, they are securely bonded together.

Our induction shrink fitting technology provides accurate heat, precise cycle times and results in fewer reject parts and reduced energy consumption.

Induction Shrink Fitting

Induction Soldering and Brazing

We provide induction soldering and brazing work for the aviation, automotive, white goods and liquid gas industries. The materials brazed include brass, copper, iron, alloys, aluminium, stainless steel, and iron.

We have a range of options available such as multiple head systems that are controlled by PLC programmable systems. Our induction soldering and brazing techniques allow direct, localised heating of only the joint area, uniform heating, reduced scale formation, and reduced risk of over-heating.

We can advise and help you on any soldering and brazing issues and are always improving on the efficiency of processes by optimising generator performance.

MF Induction Heaters

All our MF induction heater units are developed and produced on site and are all CE marked in accordance to the newest UK and European guidelines.

Our D type and MF induction heaters provide a cost efficient and flexible answer to any induction heating requirement and are provided in a selection of powers from 50 to 500Kw. They have state of the art control and switching techniques and are already in use in induction forging and induction hardening treatments.

We offer them as free-standing units or as part of one fully automated bespoke solution. They feature high conversion efficiency, easy integration into handling systems and remote power control systems.

We aim to continually develop our relations with customers and ensure a process of enhancement and advancement in our products that change to suit your needs. We are happy to visit existing customers and potential customers to discuss projects on a no-obligation basis.
