Jenkinson’s has Approved Contractor Status with the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC). We provide Electrical Installation Testing and PAT Testing with full certification in accordance with the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations - BS 7671, NICEIC, IEE Codes of Practice, and Building Regulations.
We also offer a Site Inspection Service whereby we will periodically assess the condition of your electrical services and produce a listing any defects or required remedial work, which can be integrated into your maintenance schedules.
As part of site inspection and testing, we also provide Thermal Imaging, which is a powerful tool as part of predictive maintenance and identifying electrical problems before they arise. We can periodically inspect electrical and other equipment and provide full reporting on any equipment exhibiting signs of deterioration.

What is Power Factor?
Power Factor is a measure of how efficiently electrical power is consumed.
The ideal Power Factor is unity - or one. Anything less than one, (or 100% efficiency), means that extra power is required to achieve the actual task at hand.
How is Power Factor caused?
Most electrical equipment such as motors, compressors, welding sets and even fluorescent lighting, create what is known as an inductive load on the supply. This extra energy is known as Reactive Power, which can also be interpreted as wasted power and an extra burden on the electricity supply – it costs you money for no useful purpose!
How can Power Factor be Corrected?
We can achieve this by the addition of capacitors to the electrical network, which compensate for the Reactive Power demand of the inductive load and thus reduce the burden on the supply.
