KFS Special Vehicles Ltd

KFS Special Vehicles Ltd was incorporated in November 2002, by Ian Knight who had been instrumental in a number of key vehicle developments over the previous 10 years which had at the point of launch been ground breaking in a number of areas. The company was formed initially to produce light weight car transporters, recovery vehicles and niche bespoke body work, with Ian Knight taking the role of Managing Director and Mark Adams Production Director.

By 2005, with the company well established in the respective market places and a growing order book for the Liberty low floor minibus, KFS expanded its factory site to 10,000 square feet to allow for investment to be made into plant and machinery to bring the majority of fabrication work in-house.

With controlled growth taking place in 2005, 2006 and 2007 at which point Steve Elwell joined the company as Sales & Marketing Director, further investment and development took place in an all new low floor minibus which was officially launched in 2009 at the Coach & Bus Live event at the NEC to unanimous praise. 2009 also saw KFS being awarded the best light recovery truck award at the prestige European Tow Show Exhibition, confirming KFS as the market leader in the manufacture of 3.5 ton transporter and recovery truck vehicles.
