How Linerless label Printing Works

Linerless label printing is an innovative new way of printing labels which uses the same thermal technology as conventional label printing. Linerless label printing uses a strip of label material which has a special silicon release coating that the label adhesive sticks to instead of being stuck to a silicon coated liner (backing paper).

The label material has a semi-gloss finish and has superior resistance to water, heat, chemicals, and scratches. The print quality of linerless label material is excellent and the cost of the labels are the same as comparable direct thermal labels (with a protective topcoat) with a backing paper. You can be assured that linerless labels stick every bit as well as labels on lining paper.  The adhesive has been designed to adhere to any type of packaging material.

When the label printer has printed your label, it cuts the label material and presents it to you one label at a time. As soon as you have removed the label from the printer it will print the next label. This is ideal for applications where you need to apply the label to the product at the time of printing.

The Environmental Advantages of Linerless Label Printing

Many businesses are being mindful of making better choices for the planet and using linerless labels is a more sustainable solution to label printing as the manufacturing process and transportation of the label material uses less Co2 than that of traditional labels with a backing paper.

The Toshiba B-EX4T2 is in our opinion the best choice when a very large throughput of labels is required.  These printers are most often found in manufacturing sites, logistics companies and other industrial applications where a large volume of labels need to be printed.

This is the 'Direct Thermal Only' version and only uses direct thermal/heat sensitive labels.  You cannot use an ink ribbon with this printer.

Unlike some other printers the EX4T2 can easily switch between label sizes and shapes with no calibration required meaning less label wastage when switching between rolls.

This can only be purchased at the same time as the printer.

This is an external label roll holder for the Citizen CL-S521ii, CL-S621ii and CL-S631 models.

Large rolls of labels up to 200mm in diameter can be used with the roll holder.  Labels on any core diameter between 25mm and 76mm can be used.

This unit simply fits into the back of the Citizen printer and the labels can be fed into a slot at the back of the printer allowing you to use large rolls of labels in a small desktop printer.
