Rheintacho UK Ltd

We have been developing and manufacturing a wide range of measurement instruments since 1920, always with an emphasis on quality, durability and service. As our products remain in use throughout the world we continue to support our customers with spares, repairs and replacements and reengineered products.
In 2001 we joined with Rheintacho GmbH to create one of the largest rotational speed measurement manufacturers in the world. Rheintacho brings over 100 years of additional expertise, especially in the field of non-contact rotational speed sensors and stroboscopes.
As a consequence, our expanded range now covers a wide selection of products for the measurement, indication and control of rotational speed together with a range of stroboscopes for quality control and maintenance.
Our handheld portable range of tachometers and stroboscopes provides the user with the ability to measure speed and distance as well as carrying out maintenance checks by creating a ‘frozen’ image using a strobe. With equipment for use in a range of environments and applications there is a solution for every need.
Where a fixed solution is required we offer stroboscopes with a range of light sources, widths and trigger configurations to suit individual demands.
Our rotational speed instruments range from mechanical indicators which are directly connected to moving components, to non-contact sensors which generate a signal from the component and transmit this to electronic devices for control and indication. With this range we have the capability to supply effective solutions from stock, or to engineer existing products to meet specific requirements, either as a ‘one-off’ or for a serial production.
Our technical strength is key to remaining at the forefront of our industry, and we work closely with our clients during the product development process to ensure that when we design and develop a product for them it meets the specification and adds value to the finished product. Quality, accuracy and durability are fundamental to our success.
We believe that we can provide a cost-effective solution for your needs, and if there is not currently a standard product, please talk to us and see what we can do for you.

  1. ATEX Zone 1 certified Mechanical Handheld Tachometer ATEX-HTM

ATEX Zone 1 certified Mechanical Handheld Tachometer ATEX-HTM

The newly certified ATEX Zone 1 HTM mechanical handheld tachometer has been designed to accurately measure RPM and surface speed on a wide range of applications, even in hazardous environments. The ATEX-HTM is a strongly favoured measurement device in several industries, including elevator maintenance, mining industry and others. Due to the Zone 1 ATEX certification, usage in mines is now possible. The large, clear and easy-to-read dial as well as the wide reading range with good definition make these handheld tachometers easy to use - without any need for batteries!

  2. Eddy Current Tachometers

    Eddy Current Tachometers

Rheintacho has been offering mechanical rotational speed indicators based on the tried-and-tested technology of the eddy-current tachometer for seventy years. The mechanical indicators simultaneously measure and visualize the speeds of rotating objects. They are connected directly to the point of movement via a shaft and need no power supply. Connecting the eddy-current tachometer to a shaft, a further application is to measure to flow of any liquid or gas to know the speed of the flowing medium.

  3. Electrical Tachometers

    Electrical Tachometers
Rheintacho electrical indicator systems visualise process factors such as rotational speed, velocity, flow, filling levels and positions. These factors are transferred as normalized voltage or current signals for display. Rheintacho offers a range of indicators in analogue or digital versions, and in various sizes. The indicators are exceptionally robust and ideally suited for use in harsh, industrial environments. We also take account of ergonomic aspects for the operating staff. Clear displays with a well-structured, high-contrast and clear figures enable them to read the displayed values with ease. The many different uses of the electrical indicators are shown by applications in experimental set-ups and in process monitoring, test rigs and control systems. Ideally, they are used together with our tacho generators. The actual location of measurement can be up to several hundred yards from the indicator, for example on ships, where the speeds of the engines are displayed way up on the bridge.
  4. Mechanical Handheld Tachometers (HTM) Accessories

     Mechanical Handheld Tachometers (HTM) Accessories

The new HTM mechanical hand-tachometer is designed to accurately measure RPM and surface speed on a wide range of applications. The HTM is a favored measurement device in several industries, including elevator maintenance, mining industry and others. The large, clear and easy-to-read dial as well as the wide reading range with good definition make the hand-tachometers easy to use - without the need for batteries! These tachometers are also supplied with several accessories such as a tip, a measuring wheel and a funnel and an extension shaft. These enable many different measurements to be made with only one tachometer.

  5. Mechanical Hand-Tachometer HTM

    Mechanical Hand-Tachometer HTM
The new HTM mechanical hand-tachometer is designed to accurately measure RPM and surface speed on a wide range of applications. The HTM is a favoured measurement device in several industries, including elevator maintenance, mining industry and others. The large, clear and easy-to-read dial as well as the wide reading range with good definition make the hand-tachometers easy to use - without the need for batteries!
  6. Mechanical Tachometers

    Mechanical Tachometers
Remote speed measurement and indicating equipment permits information on rotary or linear movement to be transmitted to observation points at almost any distance from the measuring point. An installation typically consists of a speed sensor in the form of a tacho-generator in conjunction with one or several indicators; the elements form a self-powered system for which no mains supply is required. Foundrometers manufacture a wide variety of tacho transmitters and indicators plus all mechanical and electrical interface equipment to allow us to tailor full systems to your individual requirements.
  7. Mining Mechanical Hand-Tachometer HTM

  8. Non-Contact Rotational Speed Sensors

    Non-Contact Rotational Speed Sensors

These sensors use various magnetic proximity measuring principles to monitor the speeds of machine components in a range between 0 and 30,000 rpm. The application itself determines the measuring principle used. Rheintacho offers a wide range of standard products for the most varied applications, with suitable measuring systems and electronics, as well as appropriate housings, designs and connections. We also provide custom solutions, quickly and reasonably priced.

  9. Non contact sensors

    Non contact sensors

RHEINTACHO offers a comprehensive range of non-contact sensors to suit most applications in connection with rotational speed, linear movement or position determination and indication. Our specialty is in providing sensing solutions in demanding applications. e.g. sensors which are subject to demanding environmental conditions and difficult operating surroundings.
