Test chambers

Sharetree is a specialist provider of high-quality test chamber solutions. We offer a wide range of thermal chambers from small bench top chamber sizes, walk in chamber rooms and any custom test chambers. Chambers include temperature cycling, humidity, environmental and thermal stress capabilities using compressor and/or cryogenic cooling options.

Sharetree has installed turnkey Thermal Stress, Burn-in, Life Test and stress screening systems for many leading Blue Chip and well-known organisations throughout the world (from Aerospace to Tea!). In addition to our comprehensive range of standard chambers, we design and manufacture partial and fully customised systems for a wide variety of applications. Our Cyclone and SlimLine chambers offer a wide range of flexibitlity and chamber calibration and stress tests.

Production development

Product reliability is increasingly important in today’s markets and is often the differentiating factor between manufacturers brands. High reliability needs to be incorporated at the design stage, with thorough testing to ensure that targets are achieved. Environmental Test chambers, Life Test system and HALT systems can all be used to achieve these targets. Testing can be carried out at component, sub-assembly and final assembly levels, and is recommended at all three stages for optimum reliability


The characteristics of new or modified products should be checked to establish a level of performance that can be reliably achieved. Testing needs to cover all of the specified performance and will include parametric measurements over the complete environmental operating range.

Sharetree products are able to simulate a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. In addition, computer control may be used to vary and monitor power supplies, input signals and output loading to simulate every possible combination of operating conditions.


New or modified products should be evaluated to ensure the product(s) meet full specification. Storage conditions also need to be simulated, and usually have wider parameters than the operating range.

Products may be evaluated in both operating and non-operating states, over the range of environmental conditions expected during normal use. More extreme conditions may also be applied to determine the safety margin (or robustness) of the product. These are usually referred to as accelerated tests (see HALT and HASS test for more information).

Life Test

Testing over an extended period is used to determine the usable life of the product under the specified worst case operating conditions. Statistically significant sample sizes are necessary to obtain accurate results.

The majority of Life Testing is carried out under operating conditions and therefore a means of connecting electrical power is necessary. Additional connections for drive signals, monitoring, and output loading may also be required.

Sharetree can offer a number of suitable Life Test system solutions, depending on the size and complexity of the products. These include Tray, Carrier and Trolley loading systems and chambers.


Thermal Stress

Stress Master 2 - HALT & HASS Applications

The StressMaster-2 is a purpose designed Thermal Stress Screening chamber, featuring powerful heating and cooling systems. High, evenly distributed, airflow ensures excellent thermal coupling to the products, while keeping fan power low for economical running. The airflow can be further enhanced for small products using the built-in air deflectors.
Temperature control directly from the product can be used to further increase ramp rates by maximising the air to product temperature difference. The maximum and minimum product and air temperatures can be set by the operator to avoid product over-stress.

Product hermal stress testing is also possible by fitting the Sharetree Product Carrier system. This simplifies mechanical and electrical interfacing of the products and can be extended to include full test and monitoring under computer control.

The StressMaster-2 exceeds the guidelines for TSS chamber performance recommended by the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE).

Walk-In Test Chambers

The Sharetree range of modular walk-in Test Chambers provide a wide variety of controlled atmospheres. The designs represent the latest 'state of the art' in environmental technology, and incorporate a unique combination of advanced features together with proven reliability.

The walk-in test chambers are of versatile modular construction allowing designs to customer requirements as required. This form of construction has many advantages.

Product handling features such as shelving and trolleys can be easily added to create high volume Burn-in and Life-Test systems.

Case-rated thermal solutions

The thermal forcing blocks are designed to achieve rapid temperature excursions on devices suitable for mounting on a heatsink. (Adaptors can be supplied for case-rated devices which do not have a flat surface).

Temperature change rates on the device case far exceed those achievable with air-based systems. Thermal Stress Blocks are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate single devices (eg. for characterisation tests), or for multiple devices (eg. for Stress Screening or Burn-In of batches).
