SIS-Licht GmbH & Co. KG
Founded in 1924 by the watchmaker Erich Lang and his father, the industrialist Karl Lang, as a metal goods factory, the main focus of the company's business was on lighting technology products, in particular “articulated lamps", i.e. workplace lamps with movable arms. Today's company name is derived from the abbreviation of the original name SIRIUS SCHWEINFURT.
The company quickly acquired a reputation as a reliable supplier of solid articulated lamps. Over the years, the range has been expanded to include scissor lamps, table lamps and telephone supports. After surviving the chaos of war, Erich Lang, and since 1970 his sons Heinz and Karl, continued to successfully lead the company. The latter still supports the company today with advice and assistance.
SIS-Licht today. Stefan Lang has been managing the business since the turn of the millennium, so SIS is now a family business in its 4th generation. For the customer, this tradition means 80 years of experience in the lamp construction industry coupled with high personal commitment, and stands for long-lasting, sustainable products for which the availability of spare parts is a matter of course, even after decades. The range of services includes the development, production and distribution of technical lamps. The flat hierarchy of a medium-sized enterprise enables the company to get close to its customers: A flexible and individual response to special requests is par for the course.
Today, SIS has around 25 employees at the Schweinfurt site, while international cooperations with a proven network of long-standing production partners in Austria, the Far East and the USA ensure its competitiveness.
