UK’s Stainless Wire Supplies and Aamor Inox cooperate on stainless bar
27 March 2018It is through the forward thinking of CEO Anand Guptathat Aamor Inox continues to expand and develop. In 2017, a $5m investment was undertaken to install German-made heat treatment furnaces which, uniquely amongst its competitors in India, gives the mill the ability to produce a heat treated bar controlled to very tight, and specific, customer requirements. This facility is already approved to Norsok API-6A, AMS 2750E, and during 2018 is expected to be approved by NADCAP, thereby meeting the highest level of approval.
In addition to the above, Aamor continues to invest in mainly German-made equipment to allow its cold finishing plant to be regarded as one of the most advanced bar finishing facilities in India, the most recent investment in 2017 being a new Schumag grinding machine which allows 8.0 metre lengths to be produced to h6 tolerances. The rate of progress is continual as, also during 2017, in addition to its core products of round, hexagon, and square bar, Aamor also invested in thread rolling equipment, producing a very precise threaded bar which is used in the oil & gas industry. Aamor have also planned for the extension of hot rolling facilities in the future.
As for 2018, whilst the process of obtaining NADCAP is a main focus and goal, requiring much time, and funding, the plan is to extend the hot rolling facilities at Aamor, and to introduce HRAP flat and HRAP angle bar by quarter three/quarter four, thereby offering a very comprehensive range of single source long products.
