Training4Life (Scotland) provides First Aid Training throughout Tayside, Scotland, and beyond, delivering to care homes, nurseries, dentists' and doctors' pracxtices.
Our first aid courses cover the full gamutt of subjects, from paediatric first aid, through Medical Emergency Response and Protected Learning, to automated external defibrillator (AED) use to anaphylaxis.
Our experienced trainers come from a wide range of backgrounds, and make the learning experience practical and enjoyable, whilst tailoring the course to suit your individual work-place
Defibrillation is the only way to re-start a heart after a cardiac arrest. These amazingly simple devices are real life savers, but there is a public perception that they are "scary," and a reluctance to use them for fear of doing harm. The European Resuscitation Council and the Resuscitation Coincil (UK) both make it clear that training is not required to use a defibrillator (after switch on, the device audibly talks the operator through its use), but training helps to overcome resistance to their use.
We have a number of paediatric first aid courses available, between two to eighteen hours, suitable for parents, foster carers and nurseries. Subjects covered include child and infant unconsciousness and CPR, choking, asthma, croup, infantile convulsions, anaphylaxis, burns, wounds & bleeding and menningitis.
The Paediatric First Aid Course (18 hours) and the Emergency PFA course (6 hours) cover the same subject material as the First Aid at Work and Emergency FAaW courses, but with much more emphasis on children and babies.
Our Medical Emergency Response training for dental staff follows the systems given in the General Dental Council's core ethical guidance booklet ‘Standards for Dental Professionals’ and associated supplementary guidance. It provides all registered staff with 4 hours of verifiable CPD in this core subject. We tailor training to suit the needs and experience of your staff and over a period of time can build solid protocols dealing with situations that arise in the dental environment. In-practice training will allow your staff to become familiar with the equipment that they will have to use in an emergency in their normal workplace. This will make all staff aware of the importance of maintainance protocols and result in the smooth initiation of the emergency action plan.
The training is suitable for dentists, dental technicians, nurses, and receptionists.
We will cover asthma, anaphylaxis, cardiac emergencies, epileptic seizures, hypoglycaemia, syncope, choking and aspiration, and adrenal insufficiency, following the ABCDE approach.
This course can also be run to compliment the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) course should one be available in practice.
All training is scenario based.
Our online health and safety training courses could be just what you need to keep your company legal, your employees safe, and your bottom line in the black. Our courses are not of trhe "death by powerpoint" variety, but are interactive, tutor led, and actually fun to use!
