Interpretation Services

Product Background
With the rapid growth of globalization and increased communication with other countries, international conferences are fast growing in China. Related industry data shows that over 30,000 conferences and meetings were held in China in the year of 2011, which mainly took place in developed cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with star-level hotels and exposition centers serving as the main venues.
As China's influence on international affairs has grown, so has the attention it has received from the international community, thus, the demand for language services in the international exhibitions industry has become increasingly diversified. At present, industry demand can be categorized into two parts: One is the demand for multilevel translators with simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation as the key, and the other is the demand for device service derived from the given form of international meeting communication, such as simultaneous interpretation equipment, stereo equipment and audio devices, etc.
Product Description
In light of the growing field communication needs of our clients at meetings and exhibitions, Transn has made use of its own resource advantages and experience to provide multilevel interpretation services and device service, with simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation as key components.
Interpretation services are subdivided into: Simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation, seating interpretation, escort interpretation and meeting volunteers, etc.;
Device services can be divided into: Simultaneous interpretation equipment, stereo equipment and audio device, video device.
Moreover, owing to its resource advantages, Transn can also provide clients with diversified supporting services such as meeting shorthand, meeting management support, videotaping, listening translation, listening recording, video composition, subtitle production and multilingual dubbing, etc.
Value Embodiment
--realizing whole process barrier-free communication for exhibition
Realizing whole process barrier-free communication for exhibition is the basic function of our service, which is enforced by offering clients excellent language service. Interpretation service can be generally divided into simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation, seating interpretation, escort interpretation and volunteer service, etc. Depending on its rich HR reserve, Transn selects interpreters with senior experience in simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation services through internal selection and scheduling to head the team service involving multiple languages with high matching degree of professional field. On this basis, Transn also provides seating translation, escort interpretation and volunteer services to guarantee a sound communication between participants during the whole exhibition.
--reducing the exhibition organizer's TCO in employing translators
Simultaneous interpretation is the most sought-after service at exhibitions. It is the job requiring the highest levels of skill in the translation profession. As interpreters are required to master professional skills, have good background knowledge and accumulate vast amounts of conference experience before being able to perform their job properly, it would be a time consuming and labor intensive task for event organizers to hire interpreters of their own accord, in addition to this, a range of further inconveniences, such as voice disorders, device failures or problems caused through a lack of experience on the part of the interpreter may occur. The same goes for consecutive interpretation, where these same problems can arise. Thus, Transn will shorten the client's self-owned interpreter solution processor "demand-recruitment-training-matching" to "demand-Transn selection-interpreter in place", and will offer a backup plan, replacing incompetent interpreters should the need arise with standby interpreters.
--coordinating the connection of all parts of the exhibition project in a scientific manner
After fully conversing with the organizers, Transn will offer a customized service plan for clients in accordance with their demands helped by Transn's rich experience, accumulated through its long-term service in the international and domestic exhibition industry. On the premise of mutual approval, Transn will provide interpreters after professional testing and evaluation for clients to name the candidates. Before dispatching the interpreter, Transn will also prepare sufficient background materials for the exhibitions and give the interpreter relevant training to ensure she/he can provide the best service for the client. During the exhibition proceedings, the project manager will make a statement on the interpreter's performance after the service, handle any emergencies and guarantee the quality of the interpretation service.
--Strictly controlling any potential risks of the exhibition project
A profound understanding of local customs and cultures of the exhibition and the personal ability such as communication ability may bring added-value for the exhibition and improve client satisfaction, Transn will reserve some local standby interpreters to respond to emergencies occurring at the exhibition and supplement or replace interpreters when the situation requires in order to offer the best interpretation service. Meanwhile, Transn will also sign a three-party confidentiality agreement with clients and the participating interpreters to avoid the divulgence of the client's private information or industry secrets.
Applicable Clients
Targeted industries are the international conference and exhibition field, including foreign affairs, negotiation meetings, business activities, news media, training instruction, TV broadcasting, international arbitration, diplomatic meetings, bilateral negotiation, study visits, small discussion meetings, interviews, judicial and quasi-judicial procedures, banquet addresses, news press conferences and small symposiums, etc.

Interpretation Services

On-site Services

Product Background
Following the advancement of global economic integration and increasing international cooperation—Particularly relating to China's early 21st century strategy of "going out"—Chinese enterprises have expanded into overseas markets, with internationally competitive Chinese brands becoming more and more prominent. It was under this backdrop that domestic enterprises' demand for on-site translation services started to become apparent. As the "going out" strategy advanced, this demand gradually deepened.
It is currently unfeasible to recruit suitable translators on short notice from the domestic translation market (due to rigid demand). This, along with other budget controls, enterprise internal personnel quota restrictions (mainly for state owned enterprises), the temporary nature of projects, and sporadic demand for work/services, has made on-site translation services a necessity.
As a leader in the translation industry, Transn already possesses a high industry status. Having collected and accumulated abundant on-site service knowledge and techniques, Transn hopes to be able to use this experience to satisfy the demands of clients with needs in this area.
Product Description
Transn's on-site service is based on the on-site translation service needs of clients. After testing and selecting suitable translators and conducting the required training, translators are dispatched to the work site. Translators work according to the client's specific location and job duty requirements, providing written translation and/or interpretation.
Service Types:
—International dispatching of on-site translators (written translators/interpreters)
—Domestic dispatching of on-site translators (written translators/interpreters)
—Short and medium term escort translators: daily life escorts, business escorts, technical/work escorts
Service Content:
—Standardized Selection Assessment for Translators
Based on specific client needs, Transn conducts suitability grading of translators according to Transn's Translator Dispatch Grading Standards. In addition, Transn also provides clients with sample resumes of dispatched translators for reference. Following the client's initial confirmation of suitable translator requirements, a selection assessment and screening of translators is completed within three to ten days, after which clients are provided with a list of translators containing up to three times in excess the amount requested, clients may then choose translators from this list. Through three-party long distance interviews and on-site interviews, clients can select suitable translators.
—Pre-Assignment Training for Selected Translators
Before selected translators are dispatched to work sites, Transn conducts a series of training courses, including basic business training and conventional translation techniques. The content of the basic business training course relates to Transn's corporate culture, Transn's "On-site Dispatched Translator Service Standards", and business etiquette. Additionally, for projects with a dispatch cycle exceeding three months, Transn provides clients with an adjustment period of about ten days. This allows translators to familiarize themselves with the general situation of the project and gain a basic understanding of job duties and work flow, while at the same time allowing clients to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the translator's language service abilities.
—Agent Services for Dispatched Translators
Aside from the training of translators, Transn also handles visas, overseas insurance, and handles matters related to overseas projects for translators. This allows translators to give their full attention to work, guaranteeing a quality service.
—Supervision and Management of Translators
In order to improve client satisfaction whilst translators are on the work site, Transn uses a client linked management style. This includes periodic assessments, random inspections, and site visit feedback.
—Emergency Translator Substitution
In the event that the translator performs unsatisfactorily during the trial period, Transn will provide clients with a list of replacement translators within one to ten working days. After client selection, evaluation, and assessment, a new translator may be selected. After being dispatched onsite, if circumstances occur that render a translator unable to fulfill his/her duty quality (e.g., sickness or emergencies), Transn will provide a list of replacement translators within one to ten working days depending on the location of the project. After the client conducts independent evaluation and assessment, translators are re-dispatched to the work site.
Creation of Value
—Achieving a Business Process Free from Language Communication Barriers
Achieving a business process that is free from language communication barriers is the main aspect of the on-site translator service. This goal can be reached through the services provided by the translators Transn dispatches to the work site. Translators can generally be divided into two categories based on work type: interpreters and written translators. The interpreter service is mainly directed at content relating to different aspects of a project, for example, negotiations between a business owner and a construction contractor, simultaneous interpreting at conferences, daily life escort translation, and other language services. Written translation is mainly focused on providing translation services for different kinds of document types according to different stages of project progress.
—Lower Overall Costs for the Client when Recruiting
Clients are able to transfer a variety of costs and risks to Transn. These include translator recruitment costs, training costs, management costs, and other monetary costs. Hiring departments may not be equipped to handle recruitment and unable to appraise the language abilities of translators. High recruitment pressure could bring about situations where unsuitable translators are hired, and there is also a risk that translators could leave, negating the company's investment in training for translators. Other risks include sickness, emergencies, and similar situations that render translators unable to continue to work. At the same time, clients are able to control the number of translators and assignment length through a translator dispatch agreement, allowing for major reductions in expenses when translators are idle due to projects being delayed or terminated, dismissal costs, and management costs. When required, Transn is able to provide translator intermediary services and translator agent recruitment services.
—Satisfy Various Translator Demands Throughout the Project stages
Clients are able to move from a model where one or more translators are hired internally in order to satisfy all language service needs over the entire course of a project, to one where Transn language provides services according to the specific requirements of the different stages of a project. This involves changing translators at different stages of the project depending on their field of expertise. Take for example a written translation project, whereby during the planning stages, a translator proficient in translating feasibility studies, bidding documents and similar files may be assigned. During the construction, acceptance, and inspection stages, a translator proficient inbuilding standards, acceptance and inspection reports, and similar documents may be assigned. At the same time, clients are able to quickly add and dismiss translators according to project needs.
—Shorten the Translator Recruitment Cycle
Clients are able to go from a system of internal hiring with a sequence of "need appears—translator recruitment—translator training—suitable translator," and shorten this process down to "need appears—Transn assigns suitable translator—translator arrives." Also, replacement translators can be supplied in a timely manner in the event of an unsuitable translator or emergency situation.
—Personalized Abilities of Translators Add More Value to Project Operation
A translator with previous experience handling similar projects, having a deep understanding of local customs and culture near the project site and personal abilities (e.g., communication skills) will add more value to any given project.
Target Clients
Target clients include international engineering and electricity industries. Normally, our clients are implementing overseas engineering projects and require foreign work teams to be dispatched to the project site. Translators are generally dispatched to departments including translation, international sales, human resources, and overseas projects, among others.
Service Flow
1,Transn dispatches a project manager to the client. The project manager obtains a comprehensive picture of the client's translation personnel needs and conducts a "translator needs analysis."
2,Transn integrates client personnel time arrangements and provides the client with a service plan.
3,Transn's target language experts and industry experts (quality control engineers and outside experts) administer comprehensive translation and interpretation tests on translators who are up for selection. Resumes of translators who are deemed suitable are provided to the client for screening (two to three times the number of required translators are offered, sent out in batches.)
4,The client conducts ability tests and interviews with the translators, eventually making a selection.
5,Transn carries out pre-employment training of translators selected by the client.
6,Translators arrive at the client's specified work site and provide service. Transn and the client jointly manage the translators.
7,Having gone into deeper levels of cooperation, Transn and the client may consolidate and finely tune translator training, dispatching and other work aspects.
