Injection Moulding

Plastic Injection moulding is a process whereby granuals of thermoplastic or rubber are heated up to a liquid state and injected into a steel or aluminium mould.

At Trimfix we are here to guide you from conception, through design, production of a mould tool and material and colour choice to achieve your desired product.

Tooling allowing during the moulding process we are able to overmould plastic, stainless steel, brass or mesh inserts and overmould plastic or rubber.

Insert Moulding and Overmoulding

At Trimfix we have expertise in insert moulding and over moulding.

Insert moulding is when a (stainless steel, brass, plastic etc) insert is placed into the tool and thermoplastic or rubber is injected around the insert incasing it.

  • Insert moulded into a plastic moulding
  • Brass Insert moulded into a plastic moulding

Overmoulding can be one of two processes:

  • It is a process whereby a pre-moulded part is put into a tool and an additional plastic or rubber moulding is moulded on to it.
  • Tt can also be used to describe overmoulding an insert or mesh within a plastic part.
