Chromic Acid Anodising

Chromic Acid Anodising

Here at Redditch Anodising, we specialise in chromic acid anodising. Chromic acid anodising creates a flexible anodic film. This provides a good protective surface for subsequent painting for demanding applications. Chromic acid is not corrosive to aluminium and is suitable for use where there is a probability of seepage from lap joints. It is bright red in colour so is ideal for crack detection in forgings.

Sulphuric Acid Anodising

Sulphuric Acid Anodising

We use sulphuric acid anodising for both aesthetic and functional purposes with film thicknesses typically between 3 and 25 microns in bright or matte, clear (silver) or coloured finishes. Our sulphuric acid anodising processes enable us to provide gold, black, red, blue or purple in dyed finishes. We have a range of electrolytic colours in a spectrum of bronze colours from a light champagne through darker bronzes to black.

We ensure we seal the anodic film after anodising, essential the final performance characteristics. We use conventional boiling water, cold seal (impregnation) or dichromate sealing. We will discuss you individual requirements including alloy grade, film thickness, and jigging points to suit you application.

Hard Anodising

Hard Anodising

We form hard anodising anodic films, typically specified for their functional value. Our hard anodising films formed are dark in colour, leaving black as the only colour for the anodic film. Hard anodising provides a much thicker, harder, abrasion and corrosion resistant film. The quality of the film depends on the alloy composition and factors including the sealing process.

Powder Coating

Powder Coating

We use an energy efficient, camel back oven and off-line spraying process for our powder coating. We are able to powder coat simple and awkward components. We will precoat with chromate or anodic films to give a better performance. We provide a fantastic selection of colours in epoxy, epoxy/polyester and polyester bases.
