LCM Systems Ltd was formed in 1984 to specialise specifically in the monitoring of rigging forces in top performance racing yachts. At this time the company teamed up with Diverse Yacht Services in the UK to provide the yachting industry with precision load cells and readout systems throughout the world - marketed under the LoadSense name.

This market still plays a significant part in the product mix of the company and has helped the development of many new products and techniques over the years. The waterproof integrity and reliability of such systems is vital to the discerning yachtsman and LCM are proud to be recognised as the world leaders in this field.

LCM has built up significant expertise in many other sectors of industry where standard (and special) products can be supplied in very reasonable time scales. In February 2004, we acquired the Transducer manufacturing business of Pioden Controls.

Shackle Load Cells

The LCM range of Shackle Load Cells is designed for lifting and weighing in rugged or harsh environments.

The shackle pins are forged from high tensile carbon steel and are machined to an exacting specification. The basic shackle uses the Crosby G2130 (1-25tonne) and G2140 (40-400tonne).

The T24 radio telemetry range is currently supported by two base stations; the T24-BSu and the T24-BSi, which in conjunction with the T24-tool kit can be used to configure all the devices within the range. Devices can listen for and transmit data packages to any device therefore making control and group measurement very simple.

The BBL-1 series of beam load cells have been specifically designed for use in a wide range of weighing applications; including vessel weighing and floor scales. It is equally suited for use in a wide range of force measurement applications.

There are a number of mounting accessories, which are available to make installation easier and to ensure that the best system accuracy is maintained.

SWA-1 Double Shear Beam Load Cell Silo Weighing Assembly

  • Ranges  0.5, 1, 2, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 50, 75, 100, 120 tonne
  • Stainless steel fully welded construction

The SWA-1 series of products uses a stainless steel double ended shear beam design, sealed to IP68 and is supplied as a complete assembly with mounting brackets. The mounting bracket assembly enables simple mounting for the engineer on site. It incorporates a number of key features that enables the best-installed accuracy to be realised. These include anti-lift off mechanism, compensation for thermal expansion and off-axis loading.

Displacement Sensors

The PD13 replaces the PD20 range of displacement transducers, as previously manufactured by Pioden Controls (which is now part of LCM Systems).

The PD13 offers many benefits over the PD20, including, low noise, greater resolution and improved availability.

The PD13 covers a wide range of options covering 25mm to 200mm strokes. They are used in many applications, including research laboratories, winding machines, civil engineering and motorsport.

The simple circuit arrangement for this type of sensor makes them ideal for OEM applications as well as lower volume special applications.

The TR200 indicator is a completely portable, 4½ digit precision instrument that is ideally suited for use in the harshest of environments or in the laboratory. It is designed to accept the signal from any strain gauge based sensor, with an output sensitivity of up to ±60mV/V.
