Earthquake Testing

Earthquake testing is a vital part of the research and development of equipment and structural components to be used in parts of the world that see earthquakes. Structures and materials for use in civil engineering projects, and computer, electronic, and telecommunications devices must be tested to comply with strict industry standards - NEBS for telecommunications devices, ICC-ES AC156 for non-structural engineering parts, and IEEE 344 for nuclear power plant equipment.

The testing process involves subjecting products to simulated earthquake conditions and is carried out with hydraulic excitation sources providing high displacement levels.
