Conveying

A conveying system is a term used for mechanical equipment used to move materials from one location to another. Conveyors are useful for the transportation of heavy or bulky materials that are difficult to carry and are used mostly by material handling and packaging industries. Furthermore, conveyors can transport materials and produce from one level to another, which is done by a human would be strenuous and also expensive. Conveyors have added safety features which minimises the chances of accidents and they can also be space friendly, installed almost anywhere (unlike the alternate which is a forklift truck). Different industries use different types of conveyors, but the most popular are chain conveyors with enclosed tracks. There are a variety of options of conveying systems, including hydraulic, mechanical and fully automated systems, which are equipped to fit individual needs and industry. Industries which depend on conveying systems are food processing, aerospace, automotive, computer, agricultural, electronic, pharmaceutical, bottling and canning, print finishing and packaging.

  1. Belt Conveyors
    - 5 Suppliers 20 Products

A conveyor belt is an everyday sight at the supermarket but it’s also a piece of hardworking equipment in industries like automotive, agricultural, pharmaceutical and mining. Made from a pulley system, a conveyor belt moves materials and produce from one place to another much quicker than a human could carry.

  2. Centralisers
    - 1 Supplier 10 Products

Centralisers are used in large-scale drilling projects such as oil and gas projects, to protect the conductor. Types of conductor guide centraliser available include fixed and adjustable centralisers, can guide centralisers, retrofit centralisers and cellar deck centralisers. They are used in many large scale engineering projects including civils, construction and oil and gas projects.

  3. Chain Transfer Conveyors
    - 1 Supplier 7 Products

For transportation of bulk materials, the Chain Transfer Conveyor performs in various industries including car product, agricultural, mining and food processing. With one chain, the conveyor generates friction to pull light loads, with two chains the conveyor can move bulky and heavy loads.

  4. Pallet Stackers
    - 2 Suppliers 16 Products

Pallet stackers are used to transport pallets in the absence of a forklift truck. They are ever present in all warehouses and come in two forms, both manual and motorised. They are the most basic form of a forklift but work efficiently to move pallets and stack them into trucks and trailers.

  5. Pneumatic Conveying Systems
    - 2 Suppliers 20 Products

Like any conveyor, the pneumatic conveying system is used to transport materials from one place to another. A pneumatic conveying system is used to transport powder materials like cement and fly ash by means of high velocity air, through pipes. It is a machine commonly used in the manufacturing industry.

  6. Roller Conveyors
    - 2 Suppliers 9 Products

Roller conveyors are used to move materials and product from one place to another thanks to parallel rotating bars. The roller conveyor is on one of the most bought conveyor systems in the world, thanks to its ability to handle bulky materials. It’s most commonly seen in manufacturing facilities and warehouse.

  7. Transfer Cars
    - 3 Suppliers 21 Products

Transfer cars are used in the lean manufacturing of large farming equipment and off-road vehicles and equipment. They work by moving partially complete equipment from one sell to the next until the product is completed, some lines have up to 14 transfer cars. Transfer cars allow production to be more lean by saving the manual labour involved in moving heavy materials from cell to cell.

  8. Turn Units
    - 0 Suppliers 0 Products

In production, or after production, machinery and heavy components need to be turned or positioned, this is when a turning unit can help by lifting and rotating by 360°. Usually the turning unit, or load turning unit, works in conjunction with overhead cranes to turn bulky and heavy components.
