Brass
Brass is a metal alloy made of brass and zinc, but can have trace elements of arsenic, phosphorus, aluminium, manganese, and silicon. It is generally classed as a ‘copper alloy’. It is bright gold in appearance and is used when low friction is required. In brass, the balance between brass and zinc can be different depending on function. Brass should not be confused with bronze, which is principally an alloy of copper and tin. Brass is used in many products including locks, gears, bearings, doorknobs and ammunition casings.
