Flanges
A flange is an external or internal ridge, or rim, for strength, as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam. There are many different types of flanges including pipe flanges, these can be manufactured to allow easy functionality and interchangeability which have standard dimensions, some flanges include; Weld Neck Flange, Blind Flange, Threaded Flange, Flat Flange and Lapped Flange, these all accord to the DIN which is the Europe standardisation. A flange can also be a plate or ring to form a rim at the end of a pipe when fastened to the pipe (for example, a closet flange). A blind flange is a plate for covering or closing the end of a pipe.
