At AmareStone, our ‘personal shopper experience’ is designed to help you achieve the best and most appropriate solution for your project.

Our expert knowledge and experience of sourcing first quality limestone tiles, marble tiles, travertine tiles and slate tiles from around the world enables us to guide you through every aspect of choosing, designing, installing and maintaining natural stone.

We specialise in limestone from Burgundy in France and regularly visit the quarries to look at new material and finishes. Burgundy limestones have been used in some of the world's most prestigious projects including the British Museum, the Taipei Tower in Taiwan, the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Islamic Arts Museum in Doha. In the UK, we have used these French Limestones in rustic seaside cottages, contemporary town houses and London patio gardens and our workshop has created modern basins, hand-carved fireplaces and stone staircases.

Travertine is characterised by small holes that are either filled at the quarry to produce "honed and filled" tiles or left unfilled as "tumbled" tiles. The best travertine has fewer holes that are filled with a high quality resin filler. There are many travertine quarries around the world producing very variable quality stone but we believe we have found the best available.

Marble is formed from limestone that has undergone extreme heat and pressure within the earth’s core. Its resulting fine crystalline structure allows it to be highly polished but it is also available in a variety of other finishes, from a contemporary, honed through to a rustic tumbled look. It is highly durable and suitable for use throughout the home.

Our range includes Carrara, Arabescato, Calacatta and Statuario marble tiles from Italy, Crema Marfil, Marron Imperial and Emperador marble tiles from Spain. In addition, our workshop produces vanity tops and fireplaces, amongst other items, from marble slabs and blocks.

Our range of stone mosaic tiles cater for both traditional and contemporary tastes. Some of our mosaics have been specially commissioned from the quarries to meet the requirements of the bathroom designers that we work with. Because we import directly from the quarries, we are able to offer top quality material at very tempting prices.

Our range of slate includes Riverstone phyllite from Argentina, a range of three different Brazilian slates and, most recently, Welsh Slate. Riverstone is a type of slate that has been further compressed and heated in the earth's core resulting in a stone that is harder and less porous than regular slate and one that has occasional cream quartz veining. It is suitable as floor and wall tiles in domestic or commercial environments and slabs can be fashioned into worktops, cills and shelves.

Many people are recognising the value of slate as the perfect stone for using both inside and outside the home where a seamless continuation is required.
