Originally formed in February 1975, AMELEC remains a wholly owned British manufacturing and design company. The instrumentation that AMELEC offers to the market place is based on analogue techniques, using readily available discrete components.

Therefore all the monitoring is in real time. The instruments contain no time dependent or microprocessor circuitry and are suitable for use in SIL level 1, 2 or 3 rated safety systems/loops & are covered up to 10 year warranty. With a variety of process control systems available, it is often necessary to convert an input signal into a format that your system will accept.

The design & everyday application engineering principles used in the instruments are based on well tried and proven in use for over 40 years in linear operational and amplifier circuitry. Each unique, custom built analogue instrument can be considered as a number of functional blocks assembled together to produce a specific process control function.

A signal conditioner / transmitter would comprise of an input circuit, a modulator / demodulator stage, an output circuit and the power supply/regulation circuitry. A trip amplifier might use the same input circuit, but this time a comparator and relay driver stage plus the power supply / regulation circuitry is used.

By combining these functional blocks together we have produced a comprehensive range of trip amplifiers, transmitters, signal converters / isolators, combined trip transmitters, arithmetic (add / subtract / select / multiply / divide) units, power supplies, strain gauge, frequency & AC I/V transducers. On top of all that, we also manufacture hart compatible units.

The circuit building blocks we use today are essentially the same as the ones we have used for the last 35 years and still providing reliable instrumentation for system, maintenance, reactive engineers and more. Signal conditioners take signals from an assortment of field instruments such as thermocouples and RTDs and convert those signals into any of several standard instrument signals (1…5V, 4…20 mA, etc.).

Signal conditioners are also beneficial to the accurate transfer of these signals, isolation and the elimination of ground loops. To confirm that the instruments are compliant with the latest standards, AMELEC have submitted a range of instruments with all the various circuit blocks in them to the several test houses.

  5. Dual Output Signal Splitter- AEC231

    Dual Output Signal Splitter- AEC231

    Our AEC231 PROCESS SIGNAL SPLITTER – with a true universal AC/DC supply, voltage range 21V through 265V AC or DC, it’s the perfect product to multiply, protect and maintain the integrity of your 4-20mA signal.

    The two outputs are galvanically isolated from each other and can either be the same or of different value!

    Minor adjustments can be made to the calibration of this device via the zero and span potentiometers easily accessible on the front panels.

    Our splitters are built to retain a signal’s strength without any modulation loss. Any incompatible connections within the loop will not damage the device so long as the stated maximum currents/voltages are not exceeded. The outputs can be configured to be passive if required (Current SINK ports, max 30Vdc external).

    All AMELEC manufactured instruments are supplied fully calibrated, traceable to national standards. We also can provide a HART compatible version of this model

    As standard the input is passive and the output is active. However, the output can be configured on request to be passive if required (Current SINK ports, max 30Vdc external) The input, output and supply are galvanically isolated from each other and can either be the same or of different value!
