Bright Engineering (North West) Ltd is a Nelson-based precision engineering company serving a wide range of industry sectors including Aerospace, Motorsport, Defence & Avionics, Lighting, Medical, and Scientific markets.

Employing 35 skilled personnel, Bright Engineering has significant expertise in horizontal CNC machining and it counts the Aerospace & Power Generation industries as its most significant markets. Most of the precision components supplied are complex in nature and require tight deadlines as well as critical tolerances.

Bright Engineering's position as a recognised supplier to the Aerospace sector is thanks to its investments in technology as well as the flexibility and technical know-how of its people. The company is approved to the AS9100 Aerospace standard, and has been responsible for producing components for all manner of Aerospace applications, including aircraft interior assemblies, military seating, commercial seating, and bed seats for first class cabins.

Bright Engineering has been supplying key players in the Aerospace and Motorsport markets for over 20 years.

Based in East Lancashire, the company operates a production environment manufacturing precision components. Bright Engineering originally began life producing jigs and fixtures for the Aerospace Industry.

Bright Engineering later moved into the Motorsport market, producing components for a motorbike rider who went on to become British Champion and later World Super-Bike rider. Since that time, Bright Engineering has prospered almost entirely on word-of-mouth recommendation from customers who recognise quality workmanship.

Aerospace Blade Work

Several personnel have significant experience in the development of jigs and tooling for the manufacture of blades and stators for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries.

We have also been involved in the production machining of blades and stators. Our state-of-the-art plant and the technical experience of our staff are backed up by modern inspection techniques and machinery, making us the perfect precision engineering partner for companies which supply the Aerospace industry across the UK.

Defence and Avionics

Bright Engineering has produced several sub-assemblies for land and air based systems, including tactical screen mounts for defence vehicles and military helicopters. We have also supplied to various wingtip lighting projects for military aircraft including the F-16 fighter, producing housings and heatsinks for safety-critical lighting systems.

Bright Engineering (North West) Ltd operates a quality system to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 rev C which controls a machine shop that runs on a 3 shift system and includes the latest CNC machines.

This is backed up by computer aided part programming, 3D design and a CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine.

A regular feature of the Company's workload is to engineer difficult, tightly-toleranced components, but the breadth of experience found within the company both at management and shopfloor level, allows Bright Engineering to take on all manner of engineering work, with the intention of making life easier for the customer.
