Decorative Wrought Ironwork For Prestige Residential Development
14 December 2018We were awarded the contract to fulfil the component supply element of the fencing project for a prestige residential development in London.
Being a grade 1 listed building, it was not practical for our client to alter the existing brick columns which were different distances apart. Working from detailed drawings, Brooks set about the task of producing horizontal bars ranging from 2676 to 3708mm in length, cold punched through 60 x 20mm section with up to 41 different fixing settings and up to 41 different punching patterns along their varying lengths. These bars were punched with a 22mm square hole.
Added to this, scrollwork with some 6 different templates and short railheads were required to finish the detail and all produced at the Brooks manufacturing centre in Cradley Heath in the West Midlands. Over 43 tons of steel was forged for phase 1 of the project…a great success!
