We’ve been Contract Electronic Manufacturing for nearly 40 years. During our long period of successful trading as Electrotest Ltd, we earned a reputation for excellence, and CRS Electronics continues to work to the highest standards of manufacture and service. We achieve this by using the latest technology and manufacturing methods; through strict testing and quality assessment; and through the knowledge, experience and dedication of our staff.
Offering Electronic Manufacturing, Surface Mount Assembly, Finished Product Assembly and Automatic Testing, we have worked with a wide range of customers, across a vast selection of products.
Customer Service and Value for Money
Our service is a "one stop shop" - from concept to finished product, but we can do as much or as little as required: whether it's assembling a circuit board or providing internal cabling, to a "whole box build". We can even design for manufacture, helping you to design your circuit board from the very first stages.
Our high level of customer service is one of the many things which make us such excellent value for money. Nowhere will you find a CEM as competitive on cost, with the same commitment to service, and with 40 years of industry experience.

Our surface mount assembly capability combines the latest technology and our lengthy experience of the surface mount process. We were one of the first companies in the country to provide double-sided builds, and our expertise is second to none. We are currently offering both leaded and lead-free processing.
We understand that there are many situations in electronic manufacturing where conventional PCB assembly is the best approach - complex board layouts, bulky components and small production runs, to name but a few. In our long experience, we’ve built PCBs for a hugely diverse range of products using a variety of constructional techniques.
Our harness assembly department can manufacture cable assemblies for a wide range of applications, built to our usual high standards of quality control. We have a wealth of experience in wiring control panels and harnesses for many different applications in industries such as telecommunications and railway signalling.
Our harness manufacturing facilities include:
Automatic crimping using Kirsten stripper crimp machines fitted with JST, Molex and Tyco applicators.
Kodera automatic programmable cutting machines
Semi-automatic cable testing
With our comprehensive facilities for the production of surface mount or conventional PCBs, as well as the manufacture of all forms of cabling and mechanical assemblies, we can easily produce a ‘whole box build’ to the same high standards of quality control and testing that we apply to all our work.
Our inspection department plays a crucial role in our stringent quality assurance process, ensuring that every single unit that leaves our factory meets our exacting requirements.
For visual inspection, we use the most precise equipment available, including Leica and Mantis viewers. Our highly skilled operators will only accept the highest standards, and you can be sure that every PCB that leaves our factory has been rigorously checked.
For further verification of build quality, we use a DCB Automatic Supervision AOI machine for intensive inspection of positional accuracy, solder quality, and correct value.
Our test equipment gives us the ability to test efficiently and test quickly. So any production problems are spotted while they’re only a problem, not a crisis. Our background in testing - it’s the business we started in - means we have more experience than most in the field.
With our XJTAG boundary scan testing equipment we can quickly test circuits on PCBs for opens and shorts by accepting customer-supplied testing programmes or writing our own.
Despite our experience, we’re not set in our ways. We’re happy to use our existing test set-up, to use customer-supplied test equipment, or to design and build a completely new test environment if required.
