During the past two decades David Kaye has worked on projects within most of the UK’s airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bristol and London Luton. International work includes projects at; Dublin Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Abu Dhabi Airport, Toronto Airport, Oslo Airport.
SHOPPING MALLS -
Our shopping centre work includes retail designs and food courts, with project work in the UK and centres in the Gulf region. Projects include sites within Meadowhall in Sheffield, Merry Hill in Dudley, Metro Centre in Gateshead, The Galleries in Bristol, The Arndale Centre in Manchester, St.Davids2 in Cardiff.
We work with hotel chains as well as independent hoteliers, to provide the right level of customer experience, from reception to bedroom to leisure facilities, lounge bar, restaurant, coffee shop or function room. Whether the hotel is a traditional Inn within a listed building, or a boutique hotel offering a metropolitan-styled interior - our solutions reflect the ambition of the management team and the aspiration of the target market.
DK Design create restaurant designs across the broad spectrum, from hotel fine dining through popular/fast-casual, to fast food. Each format has its’ own particular operational requirements and requires design treatment sympathetic to the needs of the particular market. DK Design has an in depth understanding of the market positioning of restaurants - getting the right brand values, atmosphere, operational format and design values to suit the site and market.
CAFES & BARS -
Designing for the biggest lifestyle trend development of the Nineties - Cafes & Bars. The emergence of the ‘Third Place’ concept led to a demand for designs which were neither too formal and which were not beer-swilling, male only bastions like many pub chains had become. The Café-Bar, Gastro pub and Coffee chains resulted from this brief and continue to spread across the UK. Local independent operators now have a need to raise their game to compete with the emerging giants of the coffee world.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT -
In any business, the core brand values need to change and evolve - to maintain their relevance to the public. The brand is a dynamic concept and needs constant inputs - like the metaphor of a growing organism it needs attention; feeding, nourishment, occasional pruning, trimming and training to get it to grow and flourish in the best way. New Product Development involves the creation of a concept or brand re-engineering and positioning/re-launching of that product in the commercial marketplace.
