Plain bearings are usually cylindrical in shape and contain no moving parts. Standard configurations include cylindrical bearings, flanged bearings, thrust washers and flanged thrust washers and sliding plates of various shapes. They also can be made to custom designs.

Metal-Polymer Bearings

GGB’s PTFE based metal-polymer materials offer excellent low friction performance and high wear resistance in a wide range of loads, speeds and temperatures; with or without external lubrication. These materials are used extensively in a diverse range of industrial and automotive applications. The GGB metal-polymer product range includes DU®, DU-B, DP4®, DP4-B, DP10, DP11, DP31, DX®, DTS10®, DX®10®, DS and HI-EX®.

Engineered Plastics Bearings

Engineered plastics out of thermoplastic bearing material are processed by injection moulding. This production method enables us to produce unlimited dimensions in accordance to our standard, and also parts with special designs and features.

GGB engineered plastic bearings can be found in many different types of equipment, including agricultural equipment, chemical processing, material handling, electronics assembly, food processing, medical, office, packaging, scientific, sports and recreation, textile and transportation.

GGB EP™ series include PA-based EP™, POM-based EP™12, PBT-based EP™22, PPS-based EP™43 and EP™44, PEEK-based EP™63 and EP™64, and PAI-based EP™73 and EP™79. EP™, EP™22, EP43 and EP™63 are available in standard cylindrical and flanged bearings, as well as special dimensions and shapes.

GGB also offered POM-based KA Glacetal, Multilube® and FLASH-CLICK® thermoplastic bearings. FLASH-CLICK® bearings are the industry´s first dual component double-flanged engineered plastics bearings which feature a special geometry for simple manual or automated installation without the need for a pilot or assembly tools.

Fiber Reinforced Composite Bearings

This range of products typically consists of a filament-wound, fiberglass-impregnated, epoxy backing with a variety of low-friction wear-resistant bearing linings. The reinforced composite structure associated with HPMB®, HPM, HPF®, MLG, SBC, GAR-MAX®, GAR-FIL®, HSG and GGB-MEGALIFE™ XT enables the bearing to support high static and dynamic loads. Furthermore, the inert nature of the materials makes these products ideal for corrosive environments such as seawater and acidic environments.

The environmentally friendly HPMB®, HPM and HPF® were specifically developed for hydropower applications, have a high load capacity, excellent shock and edge loading capacity, excellent corrosion resistance, and are dimensionally stable. These hydro bearings are available as bushes, plates, bearing segments and special forms depending on the particular material type.

GGB bushing blocks and thrust plates (SICAL®3, SICAL®3D, PICAL®2and PICAL®3) are designed with proprietary engineered materials using specialized bearing aluminum alloys assembled with wear resistant low friction metal-polymer bearings that provide an ideal tribology solution in demanding applications.

Metal and Bimetal Bearings

GGB offers a broad range of sizes, forms and materials in monometallic and bimetallic bearings. Bimetal and metal bearings offer excellent corrosion resistance in industrial outdoor applications and in water, marine and offshore environments.

GGB-SHB steel bearings have high load capacity and very good resistance to fatigue at high temperatures. GGB's case hardened steel bushings are suited to harsh operating conditions and for high specific loads with oscillating motion and low frequency.

GGB bearings can be made in many sizes and forms, including thin-walled, thick-walled, flanged, cylindrical, sintered and oil-impregnated, and more.

Engineered as a solution to conquer misalignment reduction when high demands are placed on bearings, GGB's UNI, MINI and EXALIGN® self-aligning shaft bearing assemblies offer improved equipment performance over standard bearing assemblies by reducing stress and friction.

Designed to be used with our wide range of metal-polymer bearings and fiber reinforced composite bearings, GGB's self-aligning bearing assemblies remain insensitive to the angular misalignment of a shaft, automatically micro-adjusting to movements. This reduces torque and friction, offering greater reliability, longer service life and lower cost of ownership.
