The Merriott Plastics Group is a well established group of moulding companies specialising in injection moulding and compression moulding. Our professional capabilities range from customised component design, design and manufacture of tooling, injection moulding; thermoset and thermoplastic, and compression moulding. We offer a range of finishing operations including post-moulding screen and pad printing, ultrasonic welding and machining. All products are finished to an exceptionally high standard.
 

Design & Tooling

Merriott Plastics Ltd can provide a complete plastic moulding solution from initial concept to final production. Designs are created from our customers' specification, with strict project management covering every aspect of the tool design, materials selection and subsequent component manufacture. We work with our customers to ensure complete satisfaction.

Mould tools and press tools are produced by our professional tool-makers. 3D Moldflow Fill Time Analysis is completed and tool configuration is optimised keeping prototype lead times to a minimum. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) verifies the performance of stress related problems. For the final product, this wealth of technical expertise guarantees less inbuilt distortion and stress.
 

Injection Moulding Thermoset

When a reasonable volume of components are required, then DST moulding will produce parts at speeds approaching that of thermoplastic injection moulding. The materials used give exceptional electrical resistance coupled with good dimensional stability and rigidity.

Materials processed include:- Phenolics - Polyester - Urea - Melamine - Epoxy - DAP
 

Injection Moulding Thermoplastic

We are able to produce injection mouldings in a range of sizes from a few grammes, to over 4.5 Kilos in weight. Insert moulding is undertaken on the latest vertical Arburg machinery. Materials are selected to suit the application range from the simplest of commodity materials such as Polypropylene or Polythene, to specialised engineering thermoplastics such as PBT and PPO. Our advanced materials selection processes ensure that components are tailored to specific applications
 

Compression Moulding

We are able to produce compression mouldings in a range of sizes from a few grams to over 10 Kilos in weight. We have an extensive range of moulding presses from 25 tons to 400 tons, including 'Side Ram' and 'Transfer Ram' presses. Mouldings produced range from small insulators for the electrical industry, to one piece railway carriage seats for modern trains.

Compression moulded products are ideal as cost saving replacements for metal and die cast parts

Moulded components may be enhanced with a variety of secondary operations:-

Assembly

We can accommodate all types of assembly operations, from the simple fitting of inserts, to the assembly of switchgear and electrical components. We are also willing to kit parts together and package for point of sale if required
