Metal Casting Services

Investment Casting: Investment casting is a manufacturing process where a wax pattern is coated with a refractory ceramic material. Once the ceramic material hardens, it forms a mold for casting metal. After the metal is cast, the wax is melted out, hence the term "lost wax." Investment casting can make parts with high accuracy, excellent surface finish, and complex shapes. It can be used for casting a wide variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel-based alloys.

Die Casting: Die casting is a metal casting process characterized by forcing molten metal under high pressure into a mold cavity. The mold cavity is created using two hardened tool steel dies which have been machined into shape. Die casting is especially suited for a large quantity of small to medium-sized castings, which makes die casting the most widespread, and cost-effective method for making precise castings. Commonly cast metals are aluminum, magnesium, and zinc, but it can also include other metals.

Metal Casting Types

Stainless Steel Casting: Stainless steel casting is a specialized type of casting that requires a certain level of expertise. Stainless steel is known for its ability to resist corrosion and rust, making it a popular choice for many industries, including food and beverage, medical, and maritime industries.

Aluminum Casting: Aluminum casting involves the pouring of molten aluminum into a mold, allowing it to cool and solidify into the desired shape. Aluminum cast parts are lightweight, have a high thermal conductivity, and can withstand high operating temperatures, making them ideal for applications such as automotive parts, aircraft parts, and cookware. CFS Foundry provides aluminum die casting and aluminum gravity casting services.

Nickel-based Alloy Casting: Nickel-based alloy castings are known for their high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. They're often used in harsh environments such as gas turbine engines, chemical processing plants, and oil and gas extraction sites.
