John K Bone
The company was originally founded over fifty years ago by Mr John Bone. It soon became a family concern with his daughter and son in law now carrying on on what he started. Our policies were and still are to produce quality British made chairs. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide a very high standard on reproducing quality traditional chairs and bespoke furniture. Wherever possible we use the timbers our customers request. Almost every aspect of the process is carried out on our premises. We are also able to undertake very high quality restoration work Although we normally supply furniture 'in the white' we are able to provide a finished product if required.
Here we have a beautiful carbed Chippendale side chair made from mahogany. We were commissioned to produce a copy of this chair. The client wished to have polishing completed by his own polisher. The dedicated carbing and fret work to the back were all carried out on our premises.
This is a very unusual walnut gothic style chair with a very detailed back. The set comprised of 10 side chairs with different gargoyles to the tops of the back legs. We were required to produce two arm chairs to complete the set, designing our own gargoyles and arms in keeping with style of the rest of the set.
We are often approached to repair/restore items other than chairs. As these pictures show this is carried out to a very high standard. All carving work is carried out by our own carber to a very high spec.
