Keighley Laboratories is a metallurgical services laboratory, and a specialist in the heat treatment of metals. We have extensive experience gained from working with companies within industries such as Passenger Transportation, Marine, Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Automotive, Oil and Gas, Nuclear, General Engineering. etc.

Our Heat treatment facility offers Carburise Case Hardening, Harden and Temper, Gaseous Nitriding, Gaseous and Salt Bath Nitrocarburising, Induction Harden, Martemper and Austemper incl ADI, Annealing, Normalising, Stress Relief whilst the Laboratory Services offer Tensile Test, Chemical Analysis, Corrosion Test, Weld Test, Non - Destructive Test (DPI/MPI & UT), Macro and Micro examination incl Image Capture, Hardness Test (HB/HV/HRC & Micro Hardness), Magnetic Permeability, Ferrite Counts, Electrical Conductivity, Coating Thickness Checks and includes Failure and Problem Investigations.
Holding core accreditations of ISO 9001 and AS9100 in heat treatments and UKAS on the metallurgical services side the company also holds numerous leading industry approvals/accreditations that include Nadcap, Airbus, Bombardier, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, CAV Aerospace, Safran Aircelle, Mettis Aerospace and Britten Norman
Heat Treatment specialised services include gas carburising, nitriding, press quenching, induction hardening, austempering, martempering and both gaseous and salt bath nitrocarburising. Standard processes such as hardening and tempering, stress relieving, normalising, annealing and carbonitriding are also available.
UKAS accreditation covers most services undertaken in the Chemical Laboratory and Test House facilities i.e. chemical analysis, mechanical, weld testing, non-destructive and corrosion testing. Metallurgists are also available to carry out Product Failure Investigation.
