Specialist Welding

Our welding operators are time served tradesmen qualified to BSEN287 Pt 1 and ASME IX standard as the minimum requirement using SMAW, TIG, and GFCAW processes.

We have many approved welding procedures such as SMAW for S275, S355, and RQT materials. TIG for 316L, 304L stainless steels, Aluminium & Chrome Molly GFCAW for S275, S355, and RQT materials, with thickness ranges from 3mm to 150 mm. We also have a broad knowledge of welding cast iron.

In house training and testing of welder operatives ensures that we can always provide the qualified personnel and welding process and procedures to meet clients´ specific requirements.

We are extremely proud of the fact that our specialist welding services are relied upon by an increasing number of clients who now include our welding services in their own portfolio.

Our welders are proficient in arc air gouging and oxygen lancing techniques.

Sea Fastening
Installation and removal of sea fastening of cargo, both stored on deck and below deck. With particular emphasis on the sea fastening of items for the offshore wind farm projects and sub sea cabling and trenching projects.

Misc ship repairs
Carried out urgent repairs as required from accidental damage occurred during off loading/loading operations.

Ships mooring and fender works
Dolphin access, walkway construction and installations.
Berthing fender repairs.
Mooring buoy removal system.

Roll on and Roll off terminals
RO. RO Linkspan installations, repairs and modifications.
Supply and installation of finger flaps.

Recent Projects

Wave Hub is creating the world’s largest test site for wave energy technology by building a grid-connected socket on the seabed, 16 kilometres off the coast of Cornwall, to which wave power devices can be connected and their performance evaluated.
  The £42 million project has been developed by the South West RDA and is a cornerstone of its strategy to develop a world class marine energy industry in South West England.
  The cable, which weighs 1,300 tonnes and cost £7 million to make, is being spooled directly from a local site onto the cable laying ship MV Nordica at a rate of 400 metres per hour. The delicate operation is running 24 hours a day and will take around five days to complete.
  MCC were requested to construct at short notice an 80 tonne foundation grillage for the carousel that would ultimately carry the cable for this prestigious project.
  The grillage was fabricated in 6 unique sections which were then transported by road to the vessel. All works were completed on schedule enabling the spooling operations to commence ahead of programmed schedule.   For More Examples On The Left Hand Side CLICK HERE ...
