At MRT Castings, we have one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in producing gravity castings within the UK foundry industry. Using a range of microprocessor controlled hydraulic casting machines, we have optimised the productivity of our gravity casting, increasing production rates, consistency and shortening lead times. This allows for much better surface finishes and better mechanical properties, making this process much cheaper and accurate than sand casting. We are specialists in gravity die castings, providing one of the most sophisticated manufacturing facilities within the UK foundry industry. Gravity die casting has many benefits over sand castings, providing enhanced surface finishes and mechanical properties, along with shortened lead times and lower costs through the optimisation of our gravity die casting productivity processes. With many years of experience in gravity die castings, we are able to provide increased production rates and improved consistency due to our microprocessor controlled hydraulic machines.

Here at MRT Castings, we have a wide range of optimised tooling and machinery to provide fast, precise and cost effective high pressure castings. For customers who require high dimensional tolerances and product appearance, our high pressure casting offers the best route from molten metal to the completed components. By injecting molten metal (either aluminium or zinc) into a hardened steel tool mould, the metal is allowed to solidify under high pressure.

Our machines are able to produce locking forces of up to 530 tonnes, utilising cutting edge microprocessor controls along with automatic casting extraction and cooling. A fast, precise and cost effective process, our high pressure die casting provides the shortest solution from molten metal to a complete component. Meeting the high demands of hi-tech industries, our high pressure die casting involves injecting molten metal (zinc or aluminium) into a steel hardened tool mould, than allowing it to solidify under high pressure before the ejection process.

Our high pressure die casting machines are able to produce locking forces between 220 and 530 tonnes, utilising the latest in computerised real time shot controls, die spraying and automatic ladling. This allows us to produce high quality dimensional tolerances and product appearance where this is critical, although large volumes cannot be guaranteed.

We have extensive modern manufacturing facilities to accommodate the needs of many industries providing inventive engineering, flexible services and cost effective pricings.
