Our mission is to provide you with the best possible training in the most engaging way. What you need to know, when you need to know it, in clear, easily understood formats.

CITB Qualifications and Training

The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) was formed in order to support the British construction industry, specifically with training.

As they are an industry specific organisation they aim to:

  • promote construction;
  • ensure training standards and qualifications meet the needs of industry and;
  • assist with ensuring that levy-paying firms are able to claim monies owed to them.

The CITB supports many different forms of training including the Site Safety Plus (SSP) suite of courses.  These SSP courses are designed to provide delegates with the knowledge of current legislative requirements, as well as practical examples of how to apply them when working on site, provided by expert tutors.

Some SSP courses can help delegates to obtain a CSCS card in conjunction with the relevant NVQ, whilst others act as stepping stones to further qualifications such as the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) to the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).

EUSR Qualifications and Training

EUSR stands for the Energy & Utility Skills Register and is the online register of training skills for the energy and utilities sector and is part of the Energy & Utility Skills Group.

The Energy & Utility Skills Group collaborate with a range of organisations such as regulators, employers and stakeholders in order to support them with upskilling and training of those working or wishing to work in the energy and utilities sector.

The Energy & Utility Skills Group has schemes and programmes that qualify an individual for registration onto the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) and include many industries such as drainage and sewers, gas and water to name but a few.

EUSR also works in partnership with the CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) for their SHEA (Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness) schemes, meaning that SHEA EUSR cards will be embossed with the CSCS logo

IOSH Qualifications and Training

IOSH stands for the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.  As well as being a professional organisation, IOSH also provides certified health and safety training courses in a wide range of subjects.  From Core Skills training to Management and Executive Education, you will be able to ensure that your employees will be trained to the highest standards.

IOSH courses cut out the jargon, making them accessible to everyone in your organisation.  They help to promote a positive safety culture within an organisation using practical tools that employees can use to increase their competency and knowledge.

NPORS Plant Qualifications and Training

NPORS stands for the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme and is fast becoming one of the UK’s leading plant training schemes.  It is, perhaps, lesser well known than the CPCS card scheme, but NPORS training and testing has been improving over the years and is now favoured by many construction companies.  It is also accepted by BuildUK, who lead the UK construction industry.

NPORS training is much more flexible, with training being able to be delivered on site and not just at a training centre.  The scheme has also now aligned itself with CSCS so that the training cards can be embossed with the CSCS logo when operatives have taken and passed the correct HS&E test.

Furthermore, NPORS now offer plant operators the opportunity to progress their skills and competency by providing Trained Operator and Experienced Operator cards, depending on operators level of experience. These can be achieved via an NVQ.

Cards Available NPORS Traditional card (5 year validity)

NPORS Red Trained Operator card – CSCS Embossed (2 year validity)

NPORS Blue Competent Operator card – CSCS Embossed (5 year validity) *restrictions available upon request (site/contractor specific)

NVQ Training and Qualifications

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) are a company’s way of ensuring that their workforce are trained to a certain occupational standard.  NVQ’s are an important part of improving upon an employee’s knowledge and competency.  They cover the specific occupational aspects of work, as well as current industry best practice and health and safety requirements.

NVQ’s can be delivered according to a company’s own timetable, at times that best suit both the company and the individual.  The duration of an NVQ depends on the experience of the employee, however, our industry experienced assessors will be on hand every step of the way to ensure the employee understands what is expected of them.  Evidence is gathered and assessed against the NVQ standard to form the majority of the NVQ, so there are no complex exams or tests for the employee to pass.

NVQ’s in construction can be skills based, from entry Level 1 which will allow for a green CSCS Labourer card to be applied for up to senior management Level 7.  They can also be plant based for either CPCS or NPORS, depending on the company’s requirements.
