The Brook Welding Company specialise in machined fabrications for industry.
They pride themselves on having over 60 years' experience in producing quality steel fabrications and being able to deliver the full package to their customers. Right from CNC profiling the blanks all the way through to applying a high quality paint finish.
Brook have an 8000 sq. ft. Heavy Fabrication shop with 60 tonne overhead cranes allowing them to fabricate and weld large steel fabrications. They have a number of very experienced welder who are coded in B.S EN 287 & ASME IX and over the years the company has developed a range of welding procedures in a range of steels.
Their 6,000 sq. ft precision machine shop can handle up to 20 tonnes and has the capacity to CNC machine a maximum fabrication size of 7.6M x 3.5M inside gantry x 2.5M under tool. This facility allows them to accurately machine all but the biggest fabrication they produce, over the years they have developed good working relationships with number of heavy machinist so that if they can’t do it in house they know someone who can to the high standards Brook's customer demand.
The 9000 sq. ft. finishing shop benefits from having a large thermal stress relief, shot blaster and wet spray painting booths allowing brook to keep a close control on finished quality.
For over 50 years we have built a nationwide reputation for producing high-quality mild and stainless steel fabrications.
For the production of mild and stainless steel fabrications, we use MIG/MAG and MMA welding. Through the years we have successfully fulfilled the needs of the machine tool, chemical construction, power generation and nuclear engineering industries, meeting their special requirements of both tolerance and finish.
We pride ourselves on our technical know-how and experienced workforce. Together with our welding equipment and handling capacity, this enables us to produce fabrications of every type and size up to a maximum weight of 60 tonnes.
We utilise state-of-the-art machining facilities. Our machine shop handles even the larger fabrications you may require, and to a high level of tolerance.
Our machining facilities are situated in a 6,000 sq. ft machine shop and feature a CNC gantry milling machine. This machine is fitted with a Beaver 5 Face Mark 2 Milling Head, 72 position tool changer and is operated by an 11mm Fanuc Controller. Its large working area of 7.6M x 3.5M inside gantry x 2.5M under tool can handle large job sizes both for ourselfs and for sub contract work. Our other machines are a Union 130 Horizontal Borer, a Union 80 Horizontal Borer and an Asquith Radial Driller.
We have vast experience with thermal stress relief. Our in-house electric powered stress relieving oven has the capacity to cope with fabrications of many grades and types.
With our thermal stress relief capabilities, we fire five nights a week and even weekends for long soak items or customer specific projects. Our oven is fully calibrated and for each ‘furnace batch’, we can supply a stress relieving chart to cover the cycle. The oven is generally conducted in accordance with BS 5500.
As well as thermal stress relief, our services also include shot blasting.
Our shot blasting capacity covers seven metres in length x three metres wide x three metres high x 15 tonne in weight. Using our standard ‘G17’ cast iron grit, we can achieve a surface profile finish of between 40 and 70 microns, allowing us to conform to both Swedish Standards SA2 and SA2.5.
For painting, we have two wet spray booths to accommodate all variations of paint finish required. From a standard one pack primer to offshore five coat systems, we have it all covered.
Our paint shop personnel are extremely experienced in all types of coatings and we are more than sure you will not be disappointed with the level of finish achieved. We have accounts with all major paint manufacturers, but we also work on a free issue basis if preferred.
Brook also have a vast experience meeting the demanding needs of the offshore and subsea fabrication industry. Over the years' they have worked with all the main approval body’s to build high quality fabrications that are often life critical in nature. These fabrications are used in a wide range of applications but normally are normally for the oil and gas industry.
