The UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of over 2,000 insulated glass components, Thermoseal Group, has introduced a brand new advertising campaign to showcase its highest performance warm edge spacers – Thermobar and Thermoflex.

The first of two advertisements, ‘From Inception to Perfection’ features a diagram of a triple glazing unit showing the two flagship spacer systems with their green and orange brand colours running through – Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer Tube (Green) and Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacer Silicone rubber system (Orange).  The essence of the campaign is to highlight Thermoseal Group’s dedication to innovation, manufacturing and quality control of its spacers right from initial inception of the idea, through product development and then throughout the manufacturing process to packaging and delivery to the customer.

The second advertisement ‘British Brands Globally Recognised’ features a globe highlighting orange and green paths of delivery of Thermobar and Thermoflex products from the UK throughout the world. The delivery paths shown on the advertisement are a representation of the directions of travel of its world-class products.

“Our customers gave us some invaluable product feedback and suggestions for future innovation which we are currently reviewing in line with our plans to develop new products. The service feedback was also extremely helpful and as a result we are already putting new systems and processes in place to ensure that we offer the best service available.  Part of these plans include a new delivery tracking system and a premium website with a range of new services to improve the way we interact with our customers. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2017 has now been presented to Thermoseal Group by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Mr Warren J Smith KStJ JP at an event hosted at the Group’s Manufacturing and Distribution Site, which also houses the Group’s expanding Technical Centre.

Almost 100 guests attended the event to witness the presentation of the award, followed by a tour of the Group’s Thermobar and Thermoflex Warm Edge Spacer Manufacturing Sites, its new Decraled decorative design studios, as well as its Technical Centre and EN1279 facilities.

Thermoseal Group now supplies its highest performance warm edge spacers to 22 countries in 5 continents and trials of the products are currently being carried out worldwide.  The Group is the only UK insulated glass (IG) component manufacturer to produce both a rigid tube spacer and a flexible silicone foam spacer in-house.  From initial inception of the design, through mixture of raw materials and production of the products to final delivery to the customer, the whole process is subject to Thermoseal Group’s rigorous quality control procedures.

As Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant presented the impressive award which was accompanied by a scroll signed personally by The Queen, he said:  “These awards are not easily earned.  This year only 102 Awards for International Trade have been made nationally, and yours is one of 8 in the West Midlands (where the Group’s Head office is based).  The award is not to an individual, not to the management but to the whole workforce.”

Thermoseal Group’s Managing Director, Gwain Paterson accepted the award with fellow Director Mark Hickox standing firmly at his side. A large part of Gwain’s speech was a big thank you to all colleagues involved in the Group’s continued growth.  He said:   “Without you all Thermoseal Group would not be the same.  You built up everything around us and your hard work and can-do attitude has contributed to our success - that goes for everyone within the organisation. 

“It is often very humbling to see the some of the efforts my colleagues go to too achieve the right results.  Mark and I started to list all those colleagues we wanted to thank, but the list became far too long and we didn’t want to miss anyone out, so to all the Thermosealians out there thank you.

Thermoseal Group, the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of highest performance warm edge spacers, has developed a new warm edge solution for insulated glass (IG) manufacturers looking to construct double glazing units with narrow cavities for Heritage-style windows.

New 4mm Thermobar, as well as providing a narrow solution to make slimline units, also has a spacer profile height of 5.5mm (as opposed to the standard 6.5mm) to give a slimmer sightline at the edge of the unit to fit into the window rebate.  This is to suit applications where smaller and narrower window frames are required in the restoration and replication of traditional style windows.  

Listed properties, historic buildings, conservation areas and replacement and refurbishment projects are typical applications where there is a requirement to ensure that any updates to the premises are authentic and in-keeping with the original style.  

The Group’s Sales Director Mark Hickox, announced: “Following customer feedback on our previous Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer with a 4mm air cavity, we reduced the profile height and redesigned the product to give a more feasible solution to producing dual seal warm edge window units for heritage applications.  

“A dual sealed unit is made with a primary butyl sealant and secondary edge sealant (in this case Hot Melt) which increases the distance of the path for moisture to penetrate through the sealant into the unit thus maximising the lifetime of the unit.  

“Our Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer and Accessories range has been extremely popular both in the UK and now for export.  Thermobar spacer is one of the highest performing warm edge solutions available on the market.  It has a thermal efficiency value of 0.14W/mK which is certified on its Bundesverband Flachglas Data Sheets and has a Passive House component rating of phA+.  Our 4mm Spacer tube is ideal for those looking to produce a dual sealed edge in their heritage units and we have already received a great deal of interest in this product.”

The Queen’s Awards winners were publicly announced by Her Majesty The Queen on Friday 21st April 2017 when UK leading manufacturer and supplier of insulated glass components - Thermoseal Group – were proclaimed winner of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: International Trade 2017.

The Queen’s Awards are the UK’s most prestigious business awards to celebrate and encourage business excellence in the UK.  Following The Queen’s public announcement winners are permitted to fly The Queen’s Awards flags across their UK sites and are invited to offer input into the development and delivery of policies across Whitehall.  Winners are invited to a Palace Reception later in the year.  The Lord-Lieutenant of the County, The Queen’s local representative will then present the award at an agreed date later in the year.  Each Award is formally conferred by a Grant of Appointment and is symbolised by the presentation of a trophy.

Thermoseal Group has added to its recent compilation of awards, now being announced as the Winner of the ‘Export Champion of the Year’ at the 18th annual Amazon Growing Business Awards, which took place at The Brewery in London on November 30th.

For the second year in a row, leading UK insulated glass component supplier Thermoseal Group is the winner of the coveted Glass and Glazing Industry’s G-Award for ‘Component Supplier of the Year’ as announced at the prestigious Gala Dinner held at the Hilton on Park Lane Hotel in London on Friday 18 November 2016.

Morley Glass & Glazing Ltd at Bruntcliffe Way in Leeds has recently loaded its new £1 million premises with new equipment to manufacture its highest quality insulated glass (IG) sealed units with Kommerling 2-part Polysulphide Sealant from Thermoseal Group.  

As one of the Region’s largest glass merchants and manufacturers of IG units, Morley Glass has seen 30% year-on-year growth due to the focus on quality, customer service and its dedication to staff.
