    Sand Die Casting
The simplest process of creating tactile non-ferrous castings is sand die casting. This process consists of pouring molten metal (either zinc, copper or aluminium) into a sand mould, reducing tooling costs and allowing for large casting sizes to be achieved. Complex shaped castings require intricate cores, and general casting tolerances are lesser than that of gravity and high pressure die casting, with a 3-5mm wall thickness. Ideal for both small and large production runs, although the coarser grain sizes leave a rough surface finish.
